What is the wierdest thing Nintendo has ever done?

Actually, that looks like a cross between a T-800 Terminator and Bender from Futurama! XD

Bender, a T-800 and a Helghast soldier had a lovebaby and called it the Virtual Boy.

could someone tell me who was erased and why?

9/11: The Joke was on a troll roll and posted #34 images in various threads, so his posts got deleted and the user was baninated and erased

That there is Cthulhu-level disturbing stuff...
But that was soooo awesome. I wish the would make another version of that game.
Still weird to focus on that for E3...I bet we'll see it for Wii U in some form though.

Actually weirdest?

Standing up to Universal over Donkey Kong was fucking crazy. Like, any lawyer in the world would have told them to settle and they only won by Universal being dumb as shit.

Keeping Yokoi on the payroll while he worked for other companies, making it likely he was telling Nintendo about the hardware he was working on.

Iwata announcing that Gamecube production was halting temporarily. It was a pointless move and basically killed investor and third party confidence in the system for good (though I've heard more than one person suggest he was trying to Bernie Stolar the system).

Had no clue this ever went down.

For those interested in reading more about this here you go. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_City_Studios,_Inc._v._Nintendo_Co.,_Ltd..

Someone needs to start a petition saying that Americans like a happy Kirby. We aren't all raging carnage monkeys, Nintendo. Not the Nintendo fans at least...

I'm really suprised they keep it up, especially when starfy kept the cute look...

Maybe they think pink needs more angry for the market

Or as the Kid icarus 3d cover shows *toning down of pink*

Just blame IGN. They also made it so Nintendo thinks America hates Tingle.

So much weird stuff, kind of a shame the horse bag never got released... would have been worth it just for all the laughs! Maybe we'll see it turn up on WiiU somehow...

-Love Hotels
-Captain Rainbow
-E-Reader (most nonsensical accessory ever, I have to swipe a card back and forth 10 times just to play NES Golf?)
-Vitality Sensor
-Mario Sunshine commercials
-"Play It Loud" TV commercial campaign
-That whole surreal Wii Music E3 demo with Ravi Drums
-StarTropics and the letter you needed to put water on to reveal the secret code

That's from Muscle March, isn't it? That was Namco-Bandai, not Nintendo.

Speaking of Muscle March, I would have loved to have that in HD with Move and trophy support on PS3...
Genuinely fun and wacky game that is quite underrated, and going for high scores in the Endless Mode is a great challenge.

...okay, which pac-man game is that? it's like the only one i haven't played, except maybe those pac-land sequels.
i think that game got sequels.

Twenty fucking responses when this should have been the OP.

I'm still laughing my ass off.

I love how FADED and DUSTY that looks. I know it's probably the light, but the black and shadows look like 80s/90s consumer electronics after sitting around, unused..

Brand new and it looks like the twenty year old Genesis I pulled out of my closet the other day.

Pac-Man Vs., which was designed by Shigeru Miyamoto and developed internally by EAD, for the Gamecube and it used the GBA for controllers.

This... specifically sticking with carts instead of going with CD roms...

imagine the possibilities now if they hadn't fell out with Sony...

Sony wanted to impose all sorts of extra requirements on Nintendo to use their format (royalties paid directly to Sony on CD games for example), and their long-term goals were most likely to be an eventual take-over of Nintendo's business.

So it's not really a weird decision if they decided to get out of a bad business deal that might have led to the destruction or absorption of their company.

Few things:

-Making the primary colour for the Gamecube purple.
-Holding Nintendo (Space) World events when they feel like it.
-"Willst thou soar? Or willst thou suck?" <- not really weird, but awesome.

-Luigi game for GCN launch.

-Handle on GCN.

-Purple launch colored GCN.

Actually let's just say GCN in general is the weirdest thing Nintendo has ever done. And it was awesome.

Tingle in general is a fairly strange character. I always thought they wanted to make a character that was supposed to be sort of effeminate, but ended up with what is basically a greatest hits compilation of homosexual stereotypes and cliches.

True, its greedy Sony that messed that supposed partnership up...

But don't get me wrong I think if Nintendo had of stuck with the idea of CD-rom even from somewhere else.. it would have been a better deal than letting Sony come in from nowhere and eat into their fanbase.

Then again its all in hindsight now..
