What is your favorite Souls game?

For me:

Bloodborne > Demon's Souls > Dark Souls > Dark Souls 2

Dark Souls being #3 looks weird, but that just speaks volumes about how amazing BB and DeS are.

Demon's Souls, my first foray into the series back before it was cool and none of the successors have quite matched up to the original in my eyes.

From a controls and combat standpoint Bloodborne's much better than any of the other Souls games, and I'm not even done with it yet.

I'll give you my final verdict once I've finished my BB playthrough. But so far I can tell you that it's either Bloodborne or Dark Souls as my favourite Souls game.

Dark 1>Demon's>Dark 2

Haven't played Bloodborne yet. Dark 1 and Demon's are my #1 and #2 favorite games all-time and Dark 2 is in my top 10, so all of them are superb for me. Favorite franchise in gaming. (Along with King's Field TAC, not too far behind for me.)

Dark > Dark2 > Bloodborne > Demons

Only specific reason I adore Dark Souls 1 the most is because without any hub or town, it was able to present a better 'You vs the World' setting.

Only up to the Forbidden
Woods
in BB, but I think for me it'd be:

Dark Souls = Demon's Souls > Bloodborne

Never played DSII

While mechanically, I'd probably prefer Bloodborne over Demon's Souls right now, I think overall in terms of initial impressions, and overall world, this is my standing.

Demon's Souls was a fantastic first step that felt completely different, and the bosses were fun and memorable, in part since it was my first Souls game. The online was also the best, as being someone's boss was a very unique thing, and the NPCs were also great, especially since you could recruit them into the Nexus.

Dark Souls improved upon the exploration, rewarding players with shortcuts that felt so satisfying to unlock, and a lot of content in terms of weapons and armour. I very much enjoy the freedom and sense of not knowing where to go, so you would just choose a path and find out.

Bloodborne is a nice change, but three games in and it's going to be harder to impress me in terms of initial wow factor. I know what to expect with certain NPCs, tricks, etc., but the change in combat is an enjoyable alternative. The issue here is a serious lack of content that makes exploration feel very unrewarding compared to both Demon's Souls and Dark Souls. This annoys me greatly, and coupled with a perceived shorter game overall (can't count this out until I finish the game myself, but it's disappointing to hear that it's considerably shorter), the lack of NG+ improvements (magnified by lack of content), and the feeling of less NPCs (no NPC merchants, just lame "messengers"), it just feels like a glaring flaw to the enjoyment of the formula. And before someone says "BB is not Souls", it doesn't have to be to feel that it's not up to par in terms of rewarding players as an RPG/Adventure. BB may be slimmed down and have trimmed the fat of predecessors, but I am not completely sure of this assessment.

I do love all games, but I am really hoping to see a content update in terms of an expansion that improves the vanilla game, adds to the NG+, and gives us new areas to explore.

Dark1>Bloodborne>Demon's

Playing through Dark Souls 2 currently and just hit the 2nd Primal Bonfire at Iron Keep and have really been enjoying it. There are some rough parts and Earthen Peek is pretty crappy but I think I've been enjoying it more as a whole than Demon's so far if the game keeps up the quality of areas and bosses from Iron Keep.

Dark1>BB>Dark2>Demon's

Right now, I'd say Dark > Bloodborne > Dark II

I have Demon's but I've yet to finish it so I won't include it in my ranking. From what I've played so far, it'll either be 2nd or 3rd.

Having yet to play BloodBorne.

1) Demon's Souls
The game that brought me back to gaming, seriously. I was playing more or less casually before I got my imported US deluxe version (I live in Spain). It'll be always the one and only true king of the souls game to me.

2) Dark Souls
The only worthy contender to the beast that was the original. Amazing new setting, tons or new ideas that extended the formula even further. Miyazaki at his best.

3) Dark Souls II
I must admit that I wanted to like this game. I did my best to overlook all the problems it has and don't get me started on the horrendous downgrade. Still an enjoyable game.

Demons > Dark 1 >>>>> Dark 2 > Bloodborne

Really not enjoying Bloodborne...removal of my favorite souls playstyle (slow, plodding, shielded turtle of a cleric), no magic, boring bosses, and excessively long load times every time I die to one of those bosses really sucked the fun out for me. Only got halfway though DaS2 before shelving it, and Bloodborne might not make it that long.

Demon's Souls was my favorite PS3 game bar none though. Don't think I've ever fallen out of love with a series so fast. Maybe if that fabled load time patch hits that might help turn the tide for BB.

For me, BB > DS1 > DeS. Haven't played DS2.

The expanded mobility, projectile-based parry and risk-reward health regen system have spoiled me, to be honest.

The other games seem duller without them.

Is Demon's really that good? I've only ever played Bloodborne. Should I play Demon's next?

Play Dark Souls next. I'd play Demon's after it. Demon's is good, but not that good. I don't even know what people are talking about when they say it's the hardest either, it's by far the easiest souls game I've played.

Dark Souls > Demons > BB > Dark 2

I played Dark 1 first. And yes that does matter.

This is my order though I played all at release and dark 1 is still slightly ahead of demons. Mostly due to balancing and other slight improvements even though they are kind of neck and neck.

Demons for me.

Not completed Bloodborne yet, so not sure if it will outrank it when I'm finished (if it counts), but I'm fairly confident it will.

They're all great games though.

I (sadly) have yet to play DeS, and I'm not done with BB, but I'm currently leaning towards:

BB > DaS1 >>> DaS2

Dark Souls 1 is one of the lead contenders for my favorite game ever, and I think Bloodborne might be better than it. It's just that damn good.

Dark souls is defiently my favourite for so many reasons but demon souls and bloodborne as very close behind. Entering firelink shrine for the first time and hearing that soundtrack is one of the best moment of my gaming life. That world in dark souls was one of the best if not the best world ever created in a video game.

Dark Souls. From combat to music, world design to bosses, NPCs to art, it remains my favorite. Each of the other Souls games (Bloodborne included) have a few things they do best, but Dark Souls is the most consistently fun and impressive package.

Demons souls is the king in my eyes

Then dark souls

Then waaaaaaay down at the bottom is dark souls 2.

I bought and played each of these day one and 2 is the only one I never bothered to finish.

I have yet to play BB

Haven't played Demon's Souls (yet).

Macro Gameplay (Covenants, Itemization, PVP, etc): DaS2 > DaS > BB
Micro Gameplay (Combat, World Traversal): DaS = BB > DaS2
World Design & Lore: BB > DaS > DaS2

They're all great games with different flaws.

I started with Demon's Souls when it was released. Each new game is overall better than the last one for different reasons, but no single entry is so radically different that it renders previous games obsolete. Bloodborne is the best of the bunch.

as of this writing, Bloodborne. I like its style, more aggressive gameplay, lore. I did just get DS2 for the first time as well, though, so we'll see how I feel after putting some time into it. I thought DS2 felt generic as hell to start, but about an hour in, it's starting to feel more like a Souls game.

Bloodborne > Demon's > Dark Souls > Dark Souls 2

Not that the ranking means much relative to other games since they're all amongst my favorites (DS2 is arguable I guess), but Bloodborne has set the bar for me in many ways.

I'd put Demon's Souls slightly ahead of Dark Souls but it is very close, then slot in Bloodborne and Dark Souls II in that order. I dabbled with Demon's Souls, gave up and then got hooked by Dark Souls before diving back into Demon's Souls and giving it the attention it deserved.

Still haven't finished Bloodborne, but before BB Dark Souls was easily in my top 5 favorite games ever.

If I had to rank them at the moment, it'd go like this: Bloodborne > Dark Souls > Demon Souls >>> Dark Souls 2

But yeah, I'm only 30 hours into BB but the game has been consistently amazing so far, whereas Dark Souls for me went downhill after Anor Londo.

For me Bloodborne then Demons... i never finished it though. after that i just couldnt get into dark souls 1 or 2 (played 2 for a bit on PC though...)

Bloodborne on the other hand... i love. i always pick rogue/hunter/thief/assassin types in souls games... so the fact that it was already catered to that type of gameplay from the start really got me hyped.

BB is the only one I've put more than two hours into, and I think main reason for that is the art style. I absolutely love all of the Yarnham environments, player outfits and enemy designs. Every step into a new environment is just incredibly rich with sights and sounds.

I didn´t play BloodBorne yet (might do it in a year or so), so taking out that game i must say my favorite is, by far, Demons Souls. The atmosphere, the characters, the music, etc is yet the best for me. Then it comes Dark Souls > Dark Souls II.

Demons Souls isn´t my first Souls game, but my second one.

Dark Souls II lacks something that i can´t explain what it is. I can say i don´t like the art style and the level design, or the boring bosses...but, it's something else. Still it's a great game and better than most games.

Dark Souls

I played a little game. Covered up the right side of the screen so I could only see names and avatars and guessed what people would say.
Didn't guess everyone's choices but I got 8 right and only 1 wrong. lol
