Only up to the Forbidden
in BB, but I think for me it'd be:
Dark Souls = Demon's Souls > Bloodborne
Never played DSII
While mechanically, I'd probably prefer Bloodborne over Demon's Souls right now, I think overall in terms of initial impressions, and overall world, this is my standing.
Demon's Souls was a fantastic first step that felt completely different, and the bosses were fun and memorable, in part since it was my first Souls game. The online was also the best, as being someone's boss was a very unique thing, and the NPCs were also great, especially since you could recruit them into the Nexus.
Dark Souls improved upon the exploration, rewarding players with shortcuts that felt so satisfying to unlock, and a lot of content in terms of weapons and armour. I very much enjoy the freedom and sense of not knowing where to go, so you would just choose a path and find out.
Bloodborne is a nice change, but three games in and it's going to be harder to impress me in terms of initial wow factor. I know what to expect with certain NPCs, tricks, etc., but the change in combat is an enjoyable alternative. The issue here is a serious lack of content that makes exploration feel very unrewarding compared to both Demon's Souls and Dark Souls. This annoys me greatly, and coupled with a perceived shorter game overall (can't count this out until I finish the game myself, but it's disappointing to hear that it's considerably shorter), the lack of NG+ improvements (magnified by lack of content), and the feeling of less NPCs (no NPC merchants, just lame "messengers"), it just feels like a glaring flaw to the enjoyment of the formula. And before someone says "BB is not Souls", it doesn't have to be to feel that it's not up to par in terms of rewarding players as an RPG/Adventure. BB may be slimmed down and have trimmed the fat of predecessors, but I am not completely sure of this assessment.
I do love all games, but I am really hoping to see a content update in terms of an expansion that improves the vanilla game, adds to the NG+, and gives us new areas to explore.
