What is your total unread email count?

How do some of you have thousands of unread emails? Unless all your emails from another account were forwarded to you or something like that.

Prior to having a smart phone ... probably 1000+

Now ... 0.

For me ... I never communicated through email until I got a smart phone. There would be tons of junk mail. Bill payment confirmations etc etc. I used it when I was in school some, but ever then, I didn't moniter my inbox like I do now.

0 for my gmail, for my hotmail however... maybe 8k? Haven't used it in years but even then it was at like 5k I think.

I have two email accounts and I read all my email. I don't sign up for junk, only stuff which interests me.

Fair enough, although I don't think these numbers people are quoting include junk mail. Also, maybe I'm just weird but, as I said before, I just can't stand seeing unread email even if it's bill payment confirmation or newsletters.

At work right now it is 22,197 unread messages.

I get a lot of email at work. And that is only in my inbox, I have sub folders that email is sometimes auto directed in. Stick another 15,000 on that total for all the other folders.

0. Why wouldn't you read your emails?

Nothing is more annoying then people who don't read their email and take a week for a simpele one line reply.

If I'm in the cc list then I'll get round to it if I'm not busy. If that takes a week then I probably just ignore it - if the person needs something from me specifically they'll send it TO me.

I filter my work email so 'to' me stuff is coloured and in a search folder

I'm that way now. If I'm not reading it I"m tossing it. I can't stand having anything on my phone telling me there's something unread. It's been a rather weird transition from barely caring at all to being almost obsessive about it.

0 work
0 personal

work email i practice inbox zero so my inbox there is currently 5
tragically don't practice inbox zero with personal email. trying to retroactively implement

Zero. I am OCD about my email number count in my dock. Otherwise it's like an unclean pest.

OUT DAMN SPOT.

now, 0. during the day it can go as high as 50. I get around 300 emails each day and reading them actually prevents from getting me any work done.

"oh, and another thing, we've added this thing, and now it's urgent, and add this one as well..."

yes I hate my job. I'm a bitter man.

Zero.

I can't leave things unread. Which is not to say I actually read everything, but I at least archive it / delete it / mark it as spam.
