what jrpg are you playing right now ?

Started playing Star Ocean: The Last Hope International. Already beat it on release when it his 360 and had this version sitting on the shelf for awhile. Played about 10 hours in already.

....

Man the dungeons are effing massive in this game. How I beat this once is beyond me. 4 and a half hours to get through the second dungeon in the game, while fighting almost every monster once because I was under leveled and the previous boss took forever to kill. Seriously this games dungeons are like 7x the size of any other games final one.

still on xillia2, after finishing on hard and doing some post game stuff i started newgame+ on nightmare. never thought i would spend so much time in this game.

Finally decided to try out The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky

-So far it's OK but I've hear the beginning is a bit slow so I'm hoping for it pick up.

-I like how they went te extra mile with NPC's dialog, they feel more complex than your average NPC's that just repeats the basic 2 lines of dialog. (I also love the massages in empty chests)

-It overall just reminds of the good old Psx era of RPG's which is nice.

-Combat system so far nice.

- Graphics are mmmmmm....ok. Sort of reminds of ragnarok online

Xenoblade Chronicles, 45 hours in and so far in the
mechonis main captial, where the mechon boss there just insta-kills me.
Got back to Colony 9 and did many sidequests there and I just realized how well done the social aspect of the game is. I mean that there are people talking about other people, many NPCs have their own little scedule and a lot of NPCs have their own personalities. It's awesome and makes everything feel so alive.
Also, doing some sidequests (at least the one that also give you EXP) unlock other sidequests which give much more money and exp. I guess it's sidequest time for the next few hours!

Up to the final boss of Lightning Returns. Beat the bonus dungeon and Aeronite, the super powerful secret boss. Then gotta do a short replay to get the weapon/shield/accessory upgrade achievements and I'll have it Platinumed.

Quiet weekend coming up so I think I'll start either Wild Arms 2 or Threads of Fate, depending on my mood.

Started up Xenoblade Chronicles again since I had forgotten what I was doing or even where I was. Planning on completing it this time by not burning myself out with all of the quests.

Beat chapter 22 in Gungnir. Some of these fights are making me want to rip off my chest hair. It feels like the way enemies are set up feel a bit unfair.

I was never able to get into Ni No Kuni. It was feeling like a chore, so I finally quit on it. Instead, I opened my poor neglected copy of Disgaea 4 that I bought in November 2011, and I'm having a really good time with it. Not sure why I didn't play it when I bought it, but I'm happy to do so now.

D4 is the second last of the PS3 games i bought and haven't played yet. The only one I have left is Star Ocean 4. I might try to squeeze it in before Dragon Age releases, just so I can finally have a clean slate (not counting all of the PS Plus games I've never played, obviously). I'm not a guy that spends lots of time in the Disgaea post game, so that might be doable. Also, i might hate Star Ocean, which would make it a quick turnaround.

I was gonig to stop buying JRPGs because they take so much time.

Well, then I got and finish FFX HD (didn't play much of 2 this time), finished Neptunia Rebirth (one trophy left...and yep it's a hellish grind one) and I'm a couple chapters or something into Fairy Fencer F now. RIP free time

Playing Golden Sun on my newly acquired GameBoy Micro. Finally past the constant text at the start of the game and into the journey. Game is still so awesome.

Going to start Tales of Symphonia. My first Tales of game.

Enjoy! It's one of the best if not the best Tales game and it has a riveting story.

I'm playing through P4G and really enjoy it. This is the first JRPG I've ever played. Might someone share their suggestions on the next one I should try? I'd like to stick with the Vita if I could.

What would you suggest my next JRPG should be?

Bravely Default and FFX-2.

Goddess-Queen Returns: Thirteen is on deck after this combo. $18 Woot sale, couldn't resist, even though I thought the playable demo was ass.

Mugen no Shinzo (PC88), aka Grindfest, the game.
And... it's... incredibly... frustrating... how... everything... is... so... slow...

You might want to check out Persona 3 Portable (PSP game which is Vita-compatible) or the HD Remaster of Final Fantasy X/X-2.

Xenoblade

I'm on my way to
Mechonis capital
. The music for Mechonis Field is mesmerizingly good. Every time I think I've heard the best of Xenoblade's music, I keep getting impressed.

BD and FFX-2 are both in my top 5 best rpg battle systems (along with Pokemon, Baten Kaitos Origins, and Xenoblade). So much job-switching goodness. Appropriate that both are more often lauded for the battle system rather than the story.

I'm playing Time & Eternity right now, and it's awful. ;_;

There's nothing that's even remotely good in this game, but somehow I can't stop playing it. Good thing it's not very long either.

Rainbow Moon. I started this on Hard years ago. Hard in this game is more like Nightmare. The grinding is unbearable. I'm level 17/18 and the boss plus 10 enemies can one shot me.

I'm mostly RPGing on my Vita right now. I've been playing Final Fantasy I and Disgaea 3. I got to a cave in FFI where I had to fight a constant string of these big ol' powerful giant enemies, only to discover that the string ended where I began. I'm about half-way through Disgaea 3 and looking forward to being able to start Disgaea 4.

Last time I posted in this thread I was struggling to stay interested in FFIX. Well, I gave up. I found the battles boring, and the story and characters were adequate but not that interesting. I think I just have to admit that I don't like the FF series all that much, with the exception of FFXII. I'll probably give FFX another shot though, as I mostly enjoyed it back in the day and HD on Vita sounds great.

Currently on P4G. About 40 hours in, and still absolutely loving it. It's been a while since I've enjoyed a game this much. The story is good, the characters are likable, it is actually funny, the battle system is streamlined without feeling dumbed down, and there are plenty of things to do without any of it feeling mandatory or grindy. Seriously fantastic game.

Played about an hour of Dragon's Dogma: DA last night. Really like it so far, but it's very early days. Playing a 'strider', and the bow feels really easy and satisfying to use.

First time playing FF X on the Vita. Idk, the beginning feels a bit slow to me (no open world or anything like that yet), but I'll continue playing (Going in blind on this one)

Gonna complete Ys: Memories of Celceta first.

Then return back to Tales of Xillia 2.

Still playing Bravely Default when I have some loose time. 16 hours in and only being done with Chapter 2.

This will be a long journey...I'm slowly realizing I have less time...:(

Dragon's Dogma DA, the first few hours didn't impress me one bit..and then I played a bit more every day for the past week or so, now I can't put it down /:

In between Jrpg's atm.

Cant decide what to play after Xillia (which was great).

I realllyyyy want to play 2, so im just gonna do that

By the portable side, Persona 3 Portable (45 hours)
By the other, Dark Souls 1 on PC (56 hours)

I just can't play any other game right know until i finish one of them.

If you have a SNES, Wii, WiiU (and access to Wii VC), DS, or 3DS I'd recommend Chrono Trigger. Not the PS1 version that is available on PSN since it is bogged down with load times. If not that I'd say go ahead with the PS1 FF games.

I just finished Danganronpa 2 and I don't know what to play next. I still need to finish Meruru+, start DDS2 and I also haven't played the Raidou games yet. Probably gonna decide between the latter two.

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix

I haven't played the original since it's release back in 2003 (?), so it's almost like playing again for the first time. I'm enjoying it, but I had forgotten just how crappy the platforming mechanics were in this game.

I've never played Chain of Memories, so I'm looking forward to experiencing that for the first time. Not having played that game is probably why I was so lost throughout the story of KH2.

Persona 3 FES.

I played the original version of P3, and when FES came out I only played the disappointing Answer portion. So now I'm playing the Journey, and it's so good to be back in this world. Feels like home. And maybe I'm forgetting a lot of things, but so many things seem new compared to the vanilla P3. Really enjoying it so far.
