Playing Rogue Galaxy on PS4 for the 1st time, this game is soo awesome.

Lunar SSH. Was expecting better tbh. If I had something else to play on my vita right now I probably would've dropped it already.

Other than the battle system, I thought this game was the ultimate definition of average.

Same. Really regret the time investment.

Just now beat Trails in the Sky Second Chapter. Hard mode was brutal for the first half of the game but it was worth it.

What a great game. Estelle is such a refreshing lead, as well. Loved everything about it.

Finished tales of Zestiria awhile back. Now playing Tales of hearts r on vita and juggling witcher 3.

Dats some good gaming

Yeah, one of my favorite characters ever, love those games so much.

I was thinking for a while about getting this or Dark Cloud 2, but since I'd already played some of RG on PS2 for a while and eventually got bored after about 15-20 hours I decided to get DC2 instead, although I ended up losing interest in that even faster so I kind of wish I'd just given RG another shot :\.

Etrian Odyssey Untold 2
Only on floor 6 after 10:30 hours though. Will take some time. Maybe I even finish it, unlike EO3, EO4, EOU, PQ or EMD. xD

Final Fantasy XII. I've been waiting for a remaster for such a long time but I just couldn't wait any more. Only a couple of hours in and enjoying myself so far.

I did the same thing last year. I'd bought and played it a bit on release day, but never really got into it, played it for about 80-90 hours last year and enjoyed the hell out of it. Definitely going to replay when a remaster comes. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Trails In The Sky FC. Have just reached the last chapter. The game is decent and if I had to score it Id give it a 7.5, however, just dont see why this game is so highly regarded..

I tried so hard to like it because the story seems so highly regarded, but I just can't get past the writing/dialogue. I don't think it's very good.

I only put about 8 hours in, maybe I didn't play enough.

Xenoblade Chronicles
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Bravely Default
XIII-2 (Don't judge me
too harshly D:
.)
Several previous-gen ones that I never finished.

...I may have a slight problem with starting new ones before I finish old ones and then never making it back to the old ones. Not because I get tired of them, I just get distracted.

why would you feel bad

like, XIII-2 is better than most of the crap people play here :p

Currently playing Final Fantasy XIII and loving it. Sure it is pretty linear and some of the dialogue is... not good. But the battle system has juggles. Juggles!

And still playing Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions on my Vita. Play a few battles and then lay it down for a few days. Like the game but only can play it in little portions. At least I'm in Chapter IV now... after starting it in September or October last year...

DQIV [DS]
Robotrek [SNES]
Breath of Fire [SNES]
FFVI [SNES] - Woolsey retranslation
DQI&II Remix [SNES]
Super Shell Monster Story [SNES] - recently translated

Persona: eternal punishment [PS]
Grandia [PS]

Dragon Quest 1 & 2 for the SNES.

Beat 1 and now about a couple hours into 2.
Oh I've been playing this too! I'm surprised the quality isn't that good for a big-name Enix remake or maybe it's the translation, the texts/menus seem off a bit.

I'm playing through DQII and got stuck at a glitch when one my characters gets poisoned after staying at an inn. Argh

Got 10 chapters into FE Awakening and it's pretty good... I am playing with permadeath turned off; it's something that always turned me off about older games in the series, since I'm of the OCD variety (as are many RPGers I'd imagine, these games have innate hooks for our kind), and if a character dies I'd have to reset. Too many times I get screwed by the random number generator at the end of a grueling battle, and I have to reset. But no more!

And because of this, the game is a good deal easier than many of the more recent SRPGs I've played (Wild Arms XF, Suikoden Tactics, and even some of the later missions of Shining Force 3). Story isn't really keeping me too interested apart from
Lucina/Marth
, though I just saw a pretty big twist that I'll hope makes the game pick up. The production values are awesome, especially the cel-shaded cinemas (I wish the whole game was rendered in this art style). Too many SRPGs like to take the low-budget route so this is a breath of fresh air.

Still a cool game and excited to play more.

Also, I see lots of people talking about Cyber Sleuth... sell me on the game, is it worth playing for someone who never got into Digimon back in the day? I love Media.Vision, the graphics look gorgeous, and it's a turn-based RPG on the PS4.

Tales of Zestiria...it's a Tales game so far. Main problem is that I'm 6 hours in and still not liking the idea of the combat. Hopefully that changes with more characters.

How are you enjoying it?
It's basically a SaGa dungeon crawler if it makes sense. There's not much story. You go about exploring areas and filling out maps that you can sell. The whole point of the game for me is to go out and fight enemies, randomly getting skills and higher stats.

Some people feel the game is a bit empty, but I do not feel this way. Gradually seeing your characters improve is addicting.

There are different formations you can set up with each character given different stances or everyone can use the same stance.
IE:

Character1: Block
Character2: Attack
Character3: Support.

You will unlock more stances as you go.

I like the graphics and the music. The biggest negative is that you will fight the same monsters a lot. The budget for this was probably not very big.

All in all, it's fun to explore and kill stuff to get stronger. It's an appetizer for SaGa Scarlet Grace.

Persona 3 Portable is my first foray into the "new" style of Persona (dabbled in P2 and played some SMT). Really liking it so far, with the sim elements keeping my interest more so than the dungeon crawl that is the Tartarus. A lot of systems to keep track of to keep the mind busy. I can see how people poor tons of hours into these games.

I know that feel bro. It was a huge reason why I stayed far, far away from the Fire Emblem series in the past despite hearing great things about it (Final Fantasy Tactics series spoiled a brother silly). I should pick up Awakening again after I finish the game I'll talk about below. The reason I stopped playing Awakening was because
I kept accidentally killing Tharja when I was trying to recruit her.

So I'm 92 hours into Tales of the Abyss (3DS) and I'm pretty much at the third and final act nearing the point of no return. Been playing very closely with a FAQ for side quests and currently mopping up Coliseum weapons/titles for Tear, Natalia, and Jade.

The character development has been fantastic more so than other Tales games I've played. Playing with Guy is too much fun since Tiger Blade--->Void Tempest (Yellow FSC)--->Soaring Gale---->Dragon Tempest is great but Anise is also fun to use though she moves like a tank.

If I never followed pokemon and only played pokemon snap, would you recommend playing a pokemon rpg?

If yes, which one? i only maybe want to play one
or do you think that i need to have been in the loop to enjoy the rpg games as they involve catching them all

If you like RPG's, sure. Just keep in mind the difficulty is pretty nominal until you get to endgame activities. I recommend starting with X/Y or Alpha Ruby/Omega Sapphire. You get all the latest and greatest features while still getting to experience what the series is all about. There's not really and grand story you're missing out on by not playing the older titles first.

Shining the Holy Ark at the moment. It's very reminiscent of Golden Sun games from what I've played and it seems that's because Camelot made them!

Nearing the end of Persona 3 Portable. (SPOILERS)
What level should my characters be for a good Nyx fight? Going Mitsuru-Aigis-Akihiko. As for Personae, there's quite a few.

Also clocked a few hours on Shin Megami Tensei IV. I think that I'll continue FF7 after finishing P3P though, don't want to get a MegaTen burnout.

Been playing kingdom hearts 2 final mix for the first time. Attempting to platinum it.

I'm right before the final 3 bosses so I'm starting to do side content, but there's so much that it's a little overwhelming.

First thing I'll do is max all the drive forms but idk where to go from there.

Bravely Second - about 5 hours in, loving it
Magnolia is great fun, her verging-on-franglais way of talking & facial expressions have been v amusing. They are already overegging Edea's mrgrgr's though, once would have been a cute callback but by the fifth time I was rolling my eyes.

Played a bit more FE Awakening and the difficulty seems to be picking up... battles lately tend to have a lot of enemies and the AI is much more aggressive.

Also, I put a few hours into Guardian's Crusade. I never hear anyone talking about this game but it's pretty cute and charming. I'm gonna write an LTTP post up about it when I'm done but yeah, simple but charming polygon aesthetics, a great translation, and a fun 'living toy' system where you find toys throughout the world and can summon them to battle for you. It's hard to believe the milking factory of Activision released a game like this in America (and it was developed by Tamsoft who nowadays is still around... making the Senran Kagura series).

Currently 60hrs into Tactics Ogre:Let Us Cling Together, can't put it down, love everything about the game except crafting, ugh, how many ignots can a man make....

Been playing Vagrant Story taking a short break from FF14, just got past the Snowflies Forest. Game is amazing, I'm surprised it holds up so well. I mean yeah, graphics are outdated, but the presentation is amazing. The cutscenes, music, story...

Gameplay wise it's still as deep and as awesome as it was back then. The game is obstuse in the way it reveals its mechanics to the player, but once you understand how it works... Oh man so good. Love it. Playing it now makes me realize that JP companies rarely take these kind of risks anymore.

This game is easily a 10/10 and IMO the best game on PS1. Well, actually it's tied with VP1 for me.

Since Hyperdimension Neptunia was on sale I decided to check out and see if it's as terrible as I thought it would be.

It's worse than I feared,
it's just mediocre
.

Very happy to be drowning in a sea of fun RPGs.

Fire Emblem Fates Conquest/Birthright - Played until chapter 12 in Conquest and 14 in Birthright. Always great to have more Fire Emblem.

Digimon Cyber Sleuth - chapter 7 or so. I spend more time trying to breed the team I want than doing the story. People weren't kidding with the Persona comparisons. It even has
bosses who are essentially the shadows of different people in the game a la P4

Bravely Second demo - What a gorgeous game, and one of the better 3D showcases on the system. Enjoying the new battle theme.

Breath of Fire III - Still early in the game. Played the PS1 version years ago but never finished it.

Hoping to finish at least 2 of the above before Tokyo Mirage Sessions in June and Bravely Second in April.

Playing persona 4 golden for the first time, I'm in December and so far the plot twist is too much for my brain. A great game with very memorable cast and story. Hoping the end game is great. 😈 the game is so long, been playing 10hour games for the past few years and surprised at the length the game.

Also bought trails if cold steel, great times a head. Swimming in a sea of jrpg is amazing.

I beat Guardian's Crusade this past weekend. Awesome game, if a bit on the simple side. An underappreciated gem that stands in stark contrast to other RPGs of the era (super serious plots, complicated systems, incredible graphics and production values) but is oozing with charm. It actually aged pretty well, I think...

Final Fantasy V gba

Why is this game so underrated? I am loving it. the music is excellent, the characters are way more interesting than previous FF games and the game has some decent twists for its time.
Why on earth didn't Square localize it earlier?

Really? I've always heard the story was weak but there was a ton of variety in combat. Maybe I'm way off base.
