What PC Exclusive Games Are Coming (2010+)?

ZealousD said:
Starcraft II
Diablo III
KOTOR MMO

These are the only ones that matter.

Two of those are pretty much no brainer for 2011...or are they gonna release SC II, Diablo III and Cataclysm in the same year?

You guys sold me on Drakensang. Ill pick that up once my backlog clears some. Hopefully I can finish it up before the sequel.

Whilst it is a decent game,I would recommend Risen instead. Drakendang is fairly average but I found Risen to be pretty amazing. It really doesn't get the attention it deserves; One of the few games where I felt my actions shaped the world around me. I actually preferred Risen to DA:O, infact I liked it nearly as much as The Witcher.

Maybe it's the fact I prefer concentrating on my own avatar as opposed to micro managing a squad of people that makes me think that The Witcher and Risen are far superior to DA:O and Drakensang.

I noticed Mount & Blade is $5 on Steam; would you recommend it? Sorry, a bit off topic but I didn't even know about Warband, and saw the deal on Steam and am considering picking it up

Ah thought so. Either way, the videos I've seen clearly show the PC version will be the superior one. No doubt about that.

For $5, Grand Theft Medieval is awesome.

It's a solid game at full price, but is easily gotten for $5-$10.

Elemental should be awesome also since they're working hard on gameplay. I expect it will get delayed to 2011 at the current pace though. Late 2010 at earliest. Stardock is taking the Blizzard approach of waiting until it's right (they can afford to, they got money)

Whilst there is a plethora of potentially great games in that list it makes me sad that the FPS genre has pretty much been taken away from the PC. It was only a couple of years ago that people would say that "all PCs are good for is FPS' and RTS'". Now it seems that the genre which is most suited for mouse control has been kidnapped by the couch dwelling masses and the chances of twitch based FPS shooters being made from the ground up for PC is forever dwindling. I just hope going forward that FPS games are still made in a way that PC gamers can still enjoy. So far they have. I thought Modern Warfare 2 was a great game and that was obviosuly developed with xbox 360 as lead SKU.

I'm not bitter :'(.

Edit: Don't get me started on Allan Wake... Show that off at an Intel show get everyone excited and.... FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU

Thats the game I am most excited for. GalCiv 2 is a great game but this just seems like its going to be amazing.

I love Risen like no tomorrow, but they are very different games. Solution: play them both!

Thread title does include a plus sign.

these lists only convinced me once more to not upgrade my 5 year old PC.
(no trolling intended, just literally nothing for me on it and already too many games in general I have to buy)

I would feel the same way but invariably there comes along a game I hadn't heard of that makes me glad I have a (mostly) current PC. Upgrade for the right game, it's pointless to do so beforehand.

Don't forget the multiplats too tho - I own a 360 and PS3 but still bought a 5850 recently for crysis 2 (amongst other games)

Elemental: War of Magic is probably my most wanted game of year 2010. Game just looks so awesome. Neptune’s Pride has also caught my eye. There is never too much 4x games <3

Has Stalker: Call of Pripyat been released yet? Anyway, get that one.

Came out a week or so ago, can be found on Steam for $20/$30.

For me one of the main draws to PC gaming is how cheap the games can be, just ordered the Anno 1404, Dragon Age and DoW2 expansions along with STALKER CoP and AvP for the price of two new console games.

I just can't see GW2 PVP working on consoles. If you played healer PVP, you know that's true. It's just impossible to select a target and heal him with a controller, when you have less than 1 second to act before he dies (damage spikes).

I could see them porting the PVE part.. But in that case, would people even buy the game? It's mainly a PVP game, with PVE being extra on the side.

sounds awesome, the great thing is that they have throwen all this RPG stuff in a RTS game in and it actualy works :D
also good to hear they are going away from the "clear map, kill boss" gameplay and going with a lot more diversity

in the case of Scout Marine boss Cyrus’ highest-end Corruption bonus – strapping a bomb to one of your squad and sending the doomed soul running into the midst of the enemy
...
awesome

Amnesia: The Dark Descent from the creators of Penumbra.

(Or does it not count as it's for Mac aswell?)
I'd say that gives them bonus points. It's on Linux too so it's truly a Personal Computer exclusive :)

Thanks for this i liked Penumbra so i'll check this out especially as they're covering all the OS platforms. Good lads.

You'll be able to play Elemental on a 5 yr old PC easily.

Yeah that's right. IWAY. I played with one of the dudes from a clan that created that build. It was really fun when we were one of the first to play it (and people had no idea what hit them) but after a week or so, it exploded. Everyone was using it. Then we just ran with counter builds and dominated again. :lol

Man I miss that shit so much. Just planning your whole team builds and which skill works with what. Can't wait for GW2.

I only play the campaign in these games so everything they are talking about is just stoking a giant game boner for the expansion. The idea of a more scripted RTS sounds like it could be awesome. You could do some very elaborate set piece type stuff if everything is scripted with the small scale combat DOWII uses.

The only downside is it comes out at the same time as Bad Company, the Dragon Age expansion, Metro 2033, and that Total War game I told myself I was not going to buy.

what i want to know is what happened to PC flight sim games :(

theres the WW2 ones by the IL-2 guys but apart from DCS: black shark theres no modern ones afaik (hawx can gtfo)

Conversely these lists along with the multi-plat games have very early on justified me upgrading my computer. The only difference was I took the $200 I was thinking about putting towards a monitor and instead put it towards a nice wireless mouse and keyboard, a 360 PC controller setup (still pissed you can't find the standalone receiver setup anymore), and a 25' HDMI cable with about $40 left over. I now have all of the great PC games coming out and 1080p 60fps gaming on multi-plat titles. When all
is said and done my total was still well
under $1000 and my PC should easily last me another 5 years (how long my previous one lasted). And I can game/work from my new 46" monitor. :p

I totally agree about the number of great games coming out and about how great PC gaming is currently. But I have to say, those links to Adrian Werner's exclusives list should be taken with several grains of salt. I mean "Dropship" from the ex-Troika guys was supposed to be due out in 2007 and the last article I saw on it was from 2006. There is lots and lots of stuff in that list that's never going to see the light of day period (Jagged Allience 3 anyone? Project Offset), never mind just in 2010.
Oh, absolutely. Still a metric shitton of good stuff, even after closer examination and sorting out the "unlikelies". :D

I do agree that there are far less big fps games being made for pc only or with pc as the lead platform. However all the big multiplats sell well and run better on pc, and in the case of Valve's fps' are made for pc first and sell better on pc.
Console has taken the fps crown from pc thats for sure but will it ever take the rts crown? Thats very unlikely the cnc games sold better on pc and i doubt SupCom 2 will do 100k on 360. Games like Total War or King arthur will never be made on a console its not possible. Pc is the best for mmo and although i can see mmofps taking off on console i could never see a mmorpg such as wow or tor getting big on console.

god I hated IWAY, not beacose it couldn't be beaten beacose it could but beacose everyone fucking used it and I mean EVERYONE, on the way to the HoH if you got one team that wasn't iway you got lucky and that other one was most probably some form of spike build (which I loved, I was one of the first people to play ele epike and ranger spike with some friends :lol )

guild vs guild battles were also awesome, we once beat the nb 2 or 3 guild, some guys from korea in the most spactaclular fashion, then we went to that replay thing and were looking at what other people were saying, I kinda felt like a god damned hero when everyone was cheering me (I caried the flag that got us to victory) :lol but the most we ever got was to rank 50, which isn't that bad, I think

shit I need to play GW again, the pvp was simply amazing and miles ahead of the WoW one

Yeah, Jagged Allience 3 caught my eye. One can only dream for a true (3D) successor to JA2. Well, back to my 16th JA2:Wildfire 6.06 playthrough...

Anyone know if this is going to have that horrible new Ubi DRM?
It has Tages with 3 activation limit as the original game has!

Settlers, Silent Hunter and Assassins Creed 2 will use the new system.

What game is that ?
I was talking about the third game in the Settlers series which is not a real Settlers anymore. It looks great and the videos are nice but it's lacking a lot of economy and building (again) :(

DOW: Chaos Rising and DA:O Awakenings (I know not exclusive to PC but still) come out next month and I'm pumped for both.

Don't know much about Disciples 3 but it looks really interesting. Is there a release date for it? Google hasn't helped.

Here is another one who's looking forward to the new ISI engine.

Hope all the collaboration with F1 teams (rFacor Pro) helps them to get a slightly more "dynamic" tire model into the engine.
