Japan or worldwide?cvxfreak said:Dos on PS2 did close to 600K. That's no slouch no matter how popular the handheld series is. Should the Wii version perform similarly, which isn't impossible, then that will be an impressive result.
I don't think so. I believe Pokemon comparisons are pretty apt here (even if the MH series is a bit less extreme). The handheld versions are among the best-selling of every generation, while the console versions register only as a blip on the radar.FitzOfRage said:So for the record, does anyone think it will have the same type of stellar effect on the Wii as the PSP?
MH is a flop is US and MH2 didn't come to the states.Haunted One said:Japan or worldwide?
What part of MH have 2 types of series do you not understand?zoukka said:Great title for Wii's sake. Has a HC-reputation and Wii really doesn't have too many great MP titles.
If they continue the series on Wii, it could be as popular as in psp.

Unless GC controller is supported, I'd say the controls are going to be psp like (no camera stickGantz said:Better controls hopefully.

I really don't know what MH3 will do for Wii. Maybe the game will get ported to PSP eventually if Wii version has low sales.

resident evil 4, resident evil umbrella chronicles, mario galaxy and smash all sold well in the west and the hardware sales are showing no slowdown compared to the rather weak sales of the 360 in europe, japan and PS3 worldwide
If MH on PS2 didn't make it popular what makes you think it will with the wii?avatar299 said:Monster Hunter 3 will be the game that makes MH huge in the west. it will be Tales of Symphonia all over again.
Because it has hype. Monster Hunter 3 will actually be advertised. There will be long discussions on message boards about it.Defuser said:If MH on PS2 didn't make it popular what makes you think it will with the wii?

Bring tons of credibility to the machine, and prove that the new control schemes can do wonders for actions games. I thought you hated NintendoZerodoppler said:It will do exactly what Ninja Gaiden DS did for the DS.
