What will Sony bring to the PSP in 2011?

Eternal Blue Remake too please.

edit: Also Zero no Kiseki in English

I just bought the remake of the first one, heavily discounted.

What should I expect? :)

You should expect the PSX version with insanely prettier graphics and audio bliss, but new voice overs, loading times, and an easier challenge.

Hell yeah, sounds great.

If we are wishing for remakes from Game Arts, I would like a Grandia 1 remake. For the PSP or PSP2, as long as it is done.

I don't even know what I want out of my PSP anymore. I really only play it on travel. Maybe another Hot Shots sports game?

There's actually a Hot Shots minigame compilation that was released in 2009 in Japan, it has never been localized by any of the SCE branches.

How about make a wish to a shining star and hope that Sony price drops the console in 2011 to give it a little boost so that it can at least go off into the sunset with some dignity left.

I want:

Pangya 2 - base it on the PC version of season 5, maybe expand some of the outfits and courses a bit. Custom soundtrack ability (integrated like in DOA Paradise, not just playing over the game like the 360 and PS3 usually do)

Wild Arms 6 - PSP or PS3, it's way overdue for a new main series entry.

I Just saw the LE is dirt cheap on Amazon.com, but their shipping costs to Europe are a joke. I didn't find it that cheap anywhere else. I'm sad now.

I am supportive of this idea.

That's what I bought, it was actually cheaper than the regular release.

Though not SCE games, see: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=403024

Or:

Ys I & II Chronicles
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together
Phantom Brave: Heroes of the Hermuda Triangle
Jikandia: The Timeless Land
The 3rd Birthday
God Eater Burst
Lord of Arcana
Patapon 3
Dissidia 012[duodecim] Final Fantasy
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky
Final Fantasy Agito XIII

And the inevitable Western releases of:

Valkyria Chronicles 3
Persona 2: Innocent Sin Portable
Monster Hunter Freedom 3

I'd imagine that the PSP will become like the PS2 in it's twilight years and will be pretty much a dedicated RPG machine.

SCE seems to be giving up the PSP, in 2009 there were quite a lot first party games, but 2010 was pretty depressing in that regard. I tend to think that with the flop of the PSP Go, Sony just delayed all those games in the cooking to be ported for the PSP 2.

So I expect a PSP 2 and a pretty solid line up at E3.

Anyway, there are a bunch of RPG in the cooking (FF XIII Agito, Valkyria 3, Parasite Eve 3rd Birthday to name a few) and some stuff that could make it to the west (like all those Monster Hunter clones like God Eater, the new Yakuza). I would also expect some other RPG. These kind of games takes a while to make, and the PSP is the best plafeform for these games in Japan, I wouldn't be surprised to see a bunch of RPG until 2012 or something. I doubt they'll make it to the west though.

As of Sony's first party, I would expect something from Bend Studios, they have some really nice PSP tech, and their last game (the awesome Resistance Retribution) was released in 2009, so it wouldn't be crazy to expect some new shooter from them in 2011.

Patapon 3 - do we need any other games?

Critter Crunch would be nice on PSP. Not sure if I'd be it though, as I already have it on PS3.

PSP must be the system with the lowest amount of games coming up but the highest I'm interested in, and easily the system that makes me worry most about titles I like not being localized. Here's some hope Square-Enix, Sega, NIS America, XSEED and Atlus keep bringing stuff.

Btw, whoever brings Venus & Braves gets extra cool points.

Monster Hunter, Parisite Eve, FFXIII Agito, WKC PSP, VC3, Dissidia 2 etc. Loads of stuff, PSP seriously has the least but most interesting games out of all.

The fuck is this shit?

PSP is more alive than the DS as far as core games go.

The 3DS is coming out. We don't need core games for much longer. Ghost Trick and Okamiden and we're done.

Tactics Ogre, Valkyria Chronicles 3 and Yakuza: Black Panther release in the west, Parasite Eve, Dissidia FF 2.

Edit: Completely forgot Patapon 3... Damn it!

A very dated game with pretty graphics, good soundtrack and generic story. Must be more enjoyable if you are a fan of/played the original, unlike me. The battle system is very slow and there is virtually no difficulty (I didn't have a single game over in my entire game).

I know it's a remake of a 15 years old game, but still...

WTF how could this thread not mention Prinny can I really be the hero 2 , which is confirmed for NA in Jan?

Shame on this thread!

Honestly we might actually see some support with ganes coming out on 3DS and PSP. They're more comparable now and with the higher cost of development and popularity of PSP in Japan we might see more 3DS -> PSP ports to subsidize the cost.

Just throwing that out there :)

Bad OP.

I think it misses a lot of games including Parasite Eve, FF Agito XIII, FF Dissidia 2, Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, Prinny 2, Persona, Tactics Ogre, Valkyria 3, the new Yakuza, Pacman Championship Edition, etc.

I think PSP will have a solid 2011 in terms of games.

All those games are developed and/or published by Sony?

I'm hoping that rumors of a PSP port of Ys Origin comes up, or that Falcom is interested in remaking Ys 4 and 5 for the system. Other than that, I'm mainly interested in the usual titles, Ys 1+2, Sora no Kiseki, Tactics Ogre, The Third Birthday, Valkyria Chronicles 3, Perusona 2 Eternal Punishment,
Criminal Girls to come out here

Speaking strictly of Sony, they seem to play their cards pretty close to the vest on PSP. One week they'll just say "hey Patchwork Heroes is coming out here next month", Modnation PSP and Patapon 3 came sorta out of left field at e3...

I think perhaps we could see a new LocoRoco and maybe another of the echo____ series before the year's up. Maybe that Uncharted PSP game that was rumored?

I thought I read a while back that Sony Bend was working on Uncharted PSP. I really would like one more Sony Bend Action/Adventure title before this thing bites the dust for good.

The OP clearly asked about Sonys own efforts and Sony as a publisher.

Not until I get my Front Mission 3 on PSN and Parasite Eve 1/2 on PSN along with Vagrant Story on PSN to play on my PSP

If Matsuno can do a polish up on Tactics Ogre, I would love to see him do a polish up on Vagrant Story for the PSP. We all know it needs some polishing (some of the minor flaws ridden through out the game) and it would be ultimately for the better.

i'll be ready to give it a try if they announce a remake. i couldn't get into it back then.
