It'll definitely have a blunted edge compared to the old ones.
But I doubt it'll be full bore woke insanity compared to some of the other crap out there.
We've already seen hot girls in bikinis and attractive people in a hetero relationship, which would make a lot of studios clutch their pearls these days.

Game will be based.
But woke too.
They'll try to please everyone, and probably succeed.
Personally, this is all I what I want from the game in this regard:
- Honest satire, make fun of everything and don't hold back. Be as offensive as needed to be legitimately funny to intelligent adults.
- Not a single woke ideology instance forced upon the player from the game itself. Characters can do and say whatever they want, but no such thing should ever feel like it comes from the game itself, as was unfortunately the case too many times in RDR2.
- Main narrative and writing as good as RDR 2010 (which is the best Rockstar game).
- Full body customization. This includes weight and muscle systems. Maybe even limited plastic surgery.
- Adult themes at least on par with CDPR. This includes full nudity. No downgrade in strip clubs interactivity compared to GTA V.

It's probably gonna have a mix of chud and woke elements most probably, if they are smart they are gonna troll the extreme of both sides.
We know lucia is hot and we have seen sexy bodies, sexy dresses, ass twerking etc.

What would make it woke slop to me is if it feels preachy about the some social issues that all woke media focuses on, and if the parody and satire shifts from making fun of everyone to exclusively making fun of of the Bluesky/Era approved topics. I hope that's not the case, but you never know.
That said, it is going to make fun of right wing/conservative ideas (because that IS part of making fun of everyone) and every character isn't going to be a straight white man and half naked woman with massive tits, so I'm sure plenty of people here will complain about it being woke no matter what.

Yeah it won't be "woke", it will have satire that resembles it, but not truly woke.
And to be slightly serious. It's 2026, not 10-15 years ago when woke was at its batshit crazy peak. So no one except a few on the purple forum would "turn on them" now.
And these days the peak of the batshit crazy MAGA / manosphere has just passed, so they too will eventually crawl back under their rocks too like the peak woke scum more or less had to do.

It's probably best to define what 'woke' means in the context of GTA. Yes, the series mocked troons and used politically incorrect language, but it also savagely mocks the entire conservative American worldview in its radio stations, and has re-iterated the same "dark side of the American dream" theme throughout the series (aka anti-capitalistc messaging). The reason the games continue to be set in America is because it's just so easy to satire how insanely backwards the country is (not sorry). So yes, in many regards the games have always been 'woke' depending on the audience's interpretation.

Difference in writing and themes with the absolute work of art that is RDR is night and day. The entire cringe and out of place Sadie Adler cartoon, all the random "he's the best of us all, we're luckly to have him" Lenny asslicking, just some of the stuff you would never in a million years find in the original game. You can feel the interference in the sequel from miles away.
The comparison between actually perfect female characters like Bonnie or Luisa in RDR, and Sadie in RDR2..
I've spend literal thousands of hours in it, and I love it, but you would have to be literally blind to not feel the colossal difference from previous R* work.
I'll just choose to be naive hoping GTA VI is going to be different.

It is going to be woke, at least a little. What big western game isn't woke nowadays? It's going to be censored to death and the only jokes made will be on western / christian / masculinity values as usual. So courageous, so strong.
And I think the game has been delayed in order to erase the strongest woke elements. But they won't be able to erase the whole story plot, that's for sure.
But it could be enough for most people buying this game.

Sadie was over the top but i never thought about the lenny thing, everyone and their mother loved him after the bar mission and he dies in the most stupid, lame way possible, if it is like you said they could have give him an hero sendoff instead of a dumb death...Indeed.

I think it's a bit of a stretch, why not use charles aswell in your example, he is an indian\racist magnet character and a better character than most, is that also woke?
I can give the benefit of the doubt for a 2018 game more than i give to most modern games writing black characters...

Nah. Game is full of such little things, stuff you can't help but notice and add one on top of the other after thousand of hours.
But even that example provided, why on Earth should Hosea tell Arthur, while Lenny isn't even there, that Lenny is "He's the best of us all, we're luckly to have him", other than Rockstar trying to score some woke points?
Lenny is a regular ass member, nothing special to him at all other than the fact he's black.
In a real game, like the original RDR, Lenny would probably be made fun of from time to time, or be object of racist jokes within the gang, including main characters. Which would then make what happen to him hit so much more, for both players and game characters. But that would require balls.
Sure, Charles as well. Nothing really major, but still little things and there.
Things is, these "little things here and there" were not there in Red Dead Redemption. Every single line had artistic meaning, there was no influence.
Some can be bothered by these minor things, others not. But I will always be bothered by things that take me out of the game, forcing my mind to go from 1899 America to the liberals working at Rockstar.
