Whatcha Been Playin': For 3-5 hours per charge Edition

space marine, max payne (yep, the first one), resistance (yep, the first one) and gears of war (yep, the first one).

i want to play max payne 3, resistance 3 and gears 3. i have never beaten the first ones. never played the second of any of them. so i am going to play all three trilogies over the next couple of months. that's my plan anyway. rage will come out and i will probably forget all about them.

Gears of War 2 - Awesome campaign, underwhelming last battle/mission. Thinking of getting Gears 3 and had lots of fun during the beta, so decisions, decisions.....

Shining in the Darkness - Old-school first-person Genesis RPG and it is awesome.

Ratchet & Clank (PS2) - Yup, the first one. Great game...will play some more this weekend.

Loving this so much. Getting towards the end I think, putting off continuing because I don't want it to end. :s

First real foray into Diablo 2 and, despite being incapable of accurately predicting when I'm going to die, I'm really starting to enjoy it. Playing a Necromancer.

Pleasantly surprised at what's on offer in this, given the low cost (well, "free" for me due to PS+). I've been trying out a few minis recently (as have my daughters).

On PS3 and iPhone.

Dead Space 2 (up to chapter 10, amazing atmosphere in this game)
Valkyria Chronicles (Up to selvarias last stand, what a prick of a mission!)
Mafia II (Just started this, seems decent so far)

Definitely. God mode is a good survival challenge, even if you ignore the amazing scoring system. Black Label Maniac is the next step up in difficulty from 1.5 Original, so it's a good way to learn the new bullet patterns without the higher difficulty of 1.5 Maniac.

I really don't like the scoring system in either 1.5 Original or BL Original, but I think the Maniac/God scoring system is one of, if not the best there is. There's nothing more satisfying than making the on-screen display flicker because you just turned so many god damn bullets into point items. Give it a shot.

Sold!

er, bought!

Second run, doing gaiden chapters. Feels bad killing so many units, heh.

On the side:
Wario Ware (GBA)
Mario vs DK Minis March Again (DSiWare): downloaded newer Nintendo levels

God of War Origins Collection

Got Platinum on Chains of Olympus. That game is hot garbage. Its inferior to the console GoWs in every single way, from art direction, combat, boss fights, puzzles, pacing, everything, man. I don't even feel like playing Ghost of Sparta, turned that shit off after 30 minutes of complete boredom, and if you're bored by a God of War opener, somebody did something wrong.

Can't wait for the other GoW to drop next week.

I finally made some time off studies to finish Valkyria Chronicles. Hadn't played the game in months, but it wasn't hard to pick up where I left off. Great game.:

Valkyria_cover.jpg

And I somehow decided to start playing another valkyrie game today even though I really don't have the time for it. I actually played it a couple of years ago, but I only got about 15-20 hours into it that time. Haven't played it since, so I decided to start fresh:

Valkyrie_Profile_Silmeria_logo.jpg

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D (3DS) - Just finished Dodongo's Cavern and have fallen back in love with this game. The lovely dungeon design is bringing back some great memories.

Radiant Silvergun (XBLA) - Glorious conversion! I used to be pretty good at this game in the Saturn era, but man, do I suck now. LOL

The Beatles: Rock Band (360) - I'd been away from this game for about a year and just decided to fire it back up. I think I like this more than Rock Band 3. They did such a beautiful job with it.

That's about it... have a few games in the immediate queue that I just haven't put much time into yet:

Catherine (PS3)
Darksiders (PC)
Batman: Arkham Asylum (PC)
Street Fighter III: Third Strike OE (XBLA)

I was suppose to hit the bars tonight but my friends bailed so instead im going to get drunk at home and play

Final Fantasy Zz
wish me luck

e7LXn.jpg

Final Fantasy Zz is a much more difficult version of Final Fantasy with a few enhancements designed to make the game more enjoyable and much more challenging. While Final Fantasy Zz is largely true to the original Final Fantasy, this hack contains multiple bugfixes, such as fixing the critical hit bug, the Black Belt armor bug, and some cosmetic bugs. There are also some improvements, such as the ability to buy 9 Heal Potions at a time, the ability to see what’s in a treasure chest without taking the item if your inventory is full, new magic spells, a slightly redesigned map, rebalanced classes, and the ability to dash by holding the B-button. Many enemies have altered stats and some have new special attacks. For those of you who have beaten Final Fantasy 1, this hack should help spice up an old favorite and keep you on the edge of your seat!

Going between Dead Island (with frieds), BFBC2 (still hooked), and red bull motocross whatever the hell it's called.

Need a new game.

Recently fired up the Wii to prepare for SS. Been playing some Final Fantasy CC: My Life as a King and Brawl.

two new pick ups:

Shadows of the Damned
seems super linear so far, but pretty darn fun. the combat is basically RE4's sequel if it was inspired by Dead Space's controls. You can move AND shoot! I'm not sure how I feel about the obvious humor but it plays well and it's weird, so I like it so far.

Dead Island
haven't had much time to play it since I'm away from my PC, but I'm a fan of open world games and it seems to have a lot to offer for a dude like me. I look forward to playing more when I have the chance

been playin:

Red Orchestra 2:
the launch has a lot of negative buzz due to all the tech issues, but I've been laying low and playing single player. the AI is terrible and it's nothing fancy, but it looks great and the gunplay is among the best ever. the handling, sound, and impact of every weapon is simply amazing. once things have been smoothed over and I feel properly trained by the single player, I'll move on to the real deal.

DXHR
probably at the 3/4 mark. it's a very good game, but I've dicked out too much and I've had a hard time closing it out. I hope to finish it up soon.

Path of Exile

In the beta, its great fun. Going to be playing this for awhile.

Dead_or_Alive_Dimensions_cover-300x300.jpg

Got this from Gamefly, never played a DOA game before, here's hoping its good.

Then some DeusEX: HR, Dead Island, Borderlands, Xenoblade(GOTY btw).

Still working on One Piece Unlimited Cruise episode 1. It sucks how much stuff doesn't transfer over to episode 2. Making me rethink my plans to hundred percent it

Played a bit of Radiant Historia. Music is Freaking awesome.

Once I finish this, I plan on starting

Never played anything in the series outside of a few minutes of the GBC entry, so I'm pretty excited to start it.

Continues to be the scratch that sates the itch. Even with all the terrific RTS/RTT games on offer - and I do enjoy investigating them - SupCom2 always manages to be the one I click within Steam. Cybran have my heart.

I started Persona 4 again but I'm still not off the ground. Gotta
save Yukiko next.
People are stupid so the beginning of RPGs are so mind-numbingly linear these days.

Xenoblade.jpg

Xenoblade (Wii) - An oustanding achievement. I could blabber on and on about what makes it so damn great, but there's no point. If you haven't played it yet, do so. Right now.

Fallout: NV: I didn't really feel like starting this, but I knew I had to get it out of the way eventually. Was bored to death for the first couple of hours, but now I'm just as addicted as I was to FO3. Wish the graphics weren't pure ass, but what can ya do.

Dead Space 2: I've decided to play this at night only in an attempt to make it scary (no game has ever scared me), so I am only playing it on my nights off. Just played the first level so far. I loved Dead Space 1, and this so far just seems to be more of the same...but maybe a little more polished. I liked the way they introduced some of the gameplay mechanics. Good impressions so far.

Gatling Gears: Really liking this game so far. It will only get better as I can afford more upgrades.

AOE online - Finally quit tonight. I have slightly inconsistent internet, I mean I will lose 5-10 sec every hour or so. For some reason this means SOLO missions are un-resumable and I have to start from scratch. It's a shame I'd play a ton more but this is a deal breaker for me.

Body Count - Sent it back to gamefly after bursting through a half dozen levels. So much worse than even the low expectations I had.

Driver - The game is spectacularly dumb in both story and gameplay, in both the best and worst ways. Really enjoying this.

Renegade Ops - Buy this no matter what platform and what games you like, just do it.

Played through space marine and deus ex recently. Liked Space Marine's campaign but sent it back after I didn't enjoy the multi. Deus Ex had so many great ideas and stumbled on a few really badly (ending as bad as fallout3/mysterious days gone just to shoehorn DLC) but I enjoyed it, even if much less than most of the posters on gaf.

Blasted right through Hard Reset (PC) and enjoyed it very much, started up another playthrough already. Love the way it feels, looks. Railgun is awesome. Played a lot of Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition (PC) with PC AE GAF earlier in the week, everything except my Juri is utter shit, and she's only just okay. I should probably learn some alt chars, but I love playing as her. Started up Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten (PS3). It's pretty neat, wacky and Japanese as fuck, but it's good to have some variety. There's a lot to this game and it'll keep me busy for awhile. Lastly, still going on with Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad (PC), still loving it despite its issues.

Also played a little bit of Mushihime-sama Futari earlier and will likely play some more this weekend, plus I'll start up Tex Murphy: Under a Killing Moon.

Working my way up the hunter ranks in Monster Hunter Portable 3rd and picked up and started playing MTG 2012 on Steam because of the midweek sale despite knowing nothing about the game.

I'm on a Zelda binge in anticipation of Skyward Sword in a few months. I'm seeing how good Twilight Princess is in retrospect, and Zelda II never gets old.

Xenoblade Chronicles: 95 hours in, first playthrough, and I cannot stop playing it. I am near the end, I believe, but I'm still doing quests and other fun things. I don't think an RPG will top this until Legend of Heroes SC comes out.

Disaster Day of Crisis: Imported this around the time I ordered my Xenoblade from the UK. Haven't played toooo much since I got Xenoblade, but between this and Xenoblade I've been in MonolithSoft heaven!

Little King's Story: Thinking about starting my Tyrant Mode playthrough today. I already got 100% in the regular game back when it first released. If Xenoblade didn't exist, this would probably still be my favorite Wii title. I would like to complete 100% both modes before the inferior Vita version comes out so I can be an ultra snob-erroni and compare the two versions like a hawk, lol!

Sky Crawlers: Thinking about getting more into this too. Getting all S Ranks and unlocking the rest of this stuff. I finished it WAY back when it came out, but I'm in the mood to play some more Project Aces games, especially since Ace Combat: AH comes out in a few weeks.

I don't think I'll be touching my PS3 until Dark Souls and Ace Combat: AH comes out. Xenoblade has put me back into a Wii mood and I can't wait for Kirby: Return to Dreamland and Zelda: Skyward Sword now.

Dead Island annnnd started playing Minecraft again. Yep, excellent timing with school starting and everything.

PINBALL FX2

These two are always in my "now playing" list. I'm a pinball nerd and I just finally bought MARS and Ms. Splosion Man. (THEY'RE BOTH FANTASTIC)

Im glad I'm not the only pinball junkie around!
