What's a good Gaming headphone?

$65 for good headphones? Tall order... MAYBE you could get away with some Grado SR60's for that price. They sure fit your condition of having good bass. It has foam pads though, so if you wear them for several hours, it can get a little uncomfortable. But I dont think you will get a better sounding headphone in that price range.
Pony up the extra dough and get something like the Sennheiser HD 590's... thats the set I have. Yeah, they are expensive. Maybe even overpriced. (No, Sennheiser is definitly overpriced.) But they sound FANTASTIC, and the ear cushions are Velour, man I can wear these things for WEEKS straight and they feel GREAT. So comfortable. Pays for itself in the long run. Don't believe the MSRP on their web page, its a filthy lie... you can get them for much cheaper at any respecatble audio shop. Not $65 cheap, but cheaper than the MSRP by a good margin

You might want to ask in this thread in the Off-Topic Forum, or just read over some of the recommendations.
In general, any good quality headphone will work well for gaming. If you're plugging it into an unamplified source, then be sure it has a low impedance as well.

Or the SR60's for that matter. Thats only if they are in the same room of course... its still LOADS quieter than conventional speakers, if there are people in other rooms they wouldn't even have a clue you were doing anything with sound.

It will absolutly NOT sound better than the stock Live headset, in regards to audio quality. Well ok, yes it does, but not by such a huge margin as to justify going out and getting one just for that. Its really a set designed for people like telemarketers, office assistants, etc, to wear for work all day long, and see very heavy use. All they did was colour it green and write "Halo 2" on it. Thats part of the price to, although the other part is that it says "plantronics" on it
I don't know about the other ones, but I'm sure you could scare up a review or two on them.

plantronics needs to make a 360 compatible unit. I don't really want to strip the wires of my current 360 headset to get the volume/mute to work...

For folks with MORE than 65 bucks, I would heartily recommend the Pioneer wireless Surround headphones. They are fucking sweet. Amazingly bassy for headphones too. $200+ but worth every penny and a perfectly good replacement for a 5.1 system in a small room or baby/family scenario.
And wear a diaper if you play RE4 or Condemned with them.
