What's exclusive to 360 in 2009?

Emotions said:
The only exclusive i care about next year is Star Ocean 4. Seems like they blew their load this year and forgot about next.
Unless the Cave shooters come stateside..... Doubtful though.

Same. SO4 is the only 360 game on my radar for next year at this point.

Yeah, just like the blew their load when Halo 3 came out only a year and a half after the 360's release. They didn't have anything left after that.

hay w8 :(

If you with "someone" mean like a dozen of users then yes. You missed that party, didn't you? (including "MS bailing out in 08") ;)

:lol funny times, sony fans were desperate then, lets see what we get this year

The same thing really is said every year, to the letter. "They blew their load with Halo 3." I remember reading those exact words.

"Yahoo Serious Film Festival...I know those words, but that sign makes no sense to me..."

;D

Oh you act if there was nothing to play this year. Poor, poor 360 owners. :lol

You can start with actually looking at the game threads here on GAF for one. Let me point you in the direction of Left4Dead or Banjo to help a poor old lady out.

I'm not saying there weren't plenty of 3rd party games to play. But it does seem like 1st party output and exclusives were a little underwhelming. To me anyway. I bought my 360 mainly for exclusives.

The only thing mediocre about Nuts & Bolts was Rare's approach to the demo. The retail experience is exceptional in every possible regard and is my official Game Of 2008.

So you've told us...many times

I'm looking forward to SO4 and Halo3 Recon.

What the 360 really needs is to have its shmups localized! Cave, Raiden Fighter Aces, Raiden IV (this one might actually have a chance)!

The odd thing about Microsoft & Co. is they tend to announce things and then release them in the same year.

Aside from maybe the first few months we know nothing about what's in store for the 360. I see no reason to worry.

We'll find out after Christmas.

Forza 3 please.

more like PGR 5 :( ...Unless turn 10 can do both games, I'm no so sure though. Actually I'm curious to see what they can do with the PGR series. PGR has always a really good, and I think, under appreciated racing series.

Would it be possible to fold them into the same game? PGR is arcadey, but it's always been more realistic than competitors like Ridge Racer or Burnout. And Forza is a little too sterile for my taste. Put them together, and you'd have a pretty awesome product.

as everyone points out, history should tell us there's gonna be some surprises. i think we can expect something from Rare this year, and MS is still building their internal Halo team as well. we also don't have any idea what Mistwalker has been up to, if anything. there's probably also another racing game on the way too...

i don't think MS will let Alan Wake slip another year, so i think you can expect that around the holiday season.

Certainly were not this year by any stretch of the imagination. Then again I've heard you say this many times before and here we are again with nice little thread to go with it. As others have duly noted maybe you should actually take a very short bit of your time and utilize some search.

So is it all over for Xbox 360? No, the sales numbers are still in that platform’s favor. But sales numbers change quickly. I’m going to predict that, at some point in 2008, Xbox 360 will enjoy its last ever month outselling PlayStation 3. It will be Blu-ray, not Metal Gear Solid, that makes this happen.

Wow, Edge editor just kind of totally failed on that prediction to say the least. :lol

What a gem as well.

Sarcastic? People were dead serious.

I know there were some people who liked to push that angle seriously, but I always had "360 has no games in 08" down more generally as a sarcastic counter-meme alongside "MS going third party in 08".

please no!

unless ms has found a way to light up that 4th super-core on 360,
I prefer that they keep on working those games and present them day1 on the new hardware.

which (new h/w) would definitely be the greatest exclusive for years 2009-2010-2011 at least.

believe!

Here's what I got for 2008:
Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom
Lost Odyssey
Ninja Gaiden 2
Too Human
Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise
Infinite Undiscovery (Co-published with Square Enix)
Fable 2
Scene It? Box Office Smash
Gears of War 2
Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts
Lips

Most of the good games there came out pretty late in the year. You don't agree?

Theseis maybe? :lol

It's like a team of 15 people making this game

Andronicos Kalogerou is a man devoted to science and the war against superstition. From his office in the historic centre of Athens, he has worked diligently for more than 5 years, travelling all over Greece and revealing the paranormal for what it truly is: drunken fantasies and uneducated hysteria.

But his intelligible, safe little world is going to come crushing down when a call from Pheve, his adopted sister and fervent advocate of the mythic, informs him that his step-father is not only missing, but presumed dead as well. With a heavy heart, Andronicos travels to the place of his childhood, high atop the Greek mountains, to bury an empty coffin and reunite with his quarrelsome step-sister. Little does he know that each step irrevocably brings him and Pheve closer to what Destiny has in store for them. For the death of their stepfather heralds the beginning of the greatest struggle between good and evil with the prize being nothing less than the very future of this world.

From the hidden network of caves beneath the Greek metropolis, crawling with the remnants of a bygone age and the treasures of the past, to long lost places of legend all over Greece, Andronicos and Pheve struggle to uncover the pieces of an ancient conspiracy, kept secret through stealth and murder. But what they find could well be just the tip of the iceberg. For beneath the cover of shadows and time, a great power lay dormant, waiting for the time when it will once again come forth to the light of day, back amongst the people where it belongs.

Awe and dread, humor and split-second decisions, discovery and betrayal, the mythical and the mundane, are all intertwined in this fast paced crossing to the other side, where your only allies are the discarded rumors of ancient folklore, dubious medieval books and above all your wits!

Seriously, this is the same damn conversation we had last holiday season, complete with blowing of load references, chicken littles and gloating fanboys.

I have no doubt we'll have some fine games on the Xbox (and personally, I don't really care if they're exclusive or not). It's been Microsoft's m.o. to roll out only the current year's games at the trade shows for like two years now, and at least so far, it hasn't been because they don't have anything for the next year.

all I really want is Mass Effect 2

That is exactly what I am hoping for: Just make it a combined PGR5/Forza3 2-disc game, one for the sim game, and another for the arcadey game.

I didn't include it because of the persistent rumours that it's going to get a port and not wanting to go down that lane, although you're right to mention it because I ended up putting Alone in the Dark on the list. I'll edit it in.
just sony fanboys starving for an RPG making up rumors instead of investing in another console that is better with RPG's

vesperia is worth a system purchase

and you cant say that because you put the multiplat Alone in the dark up there...

He failed at the list war too:
However, a look at the big games for 2008 offers some promise for PS3. Apart from Metal Gear, Tekken 6, GT5 and the Final Fantasies we have two good FPS games in Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 and, perhaps most crucially, two delightful mainstream offerings in SingStar and Little Big Planet. Xbox 360 has a good line-up too, but it’s no better and, you could argue, a bit less thrilling, than its blue-chip 2007 offerings.
But I suppose a lot of folks were expecting all those games this year.

Forza 2 was not exactly viewed as a graphical marvel, there's quite a bit that can be proved upon IMO.

I don't mean that. I mean basically Forza with more personality and maybe some variation of the Kudos system.

I don't see why this thread even exists,360 is getting better 3rd party support even with multiplat games. That's already a lot of exclusive content imo :D For a console which is a lot cheaper it sure gets a lot better games then the PS3.

Would you like to ask the ps3 version of that question in a new thread then?

You sure sound like you don't know much about PS3 games.

They haven't made announcements that far. It's not that there isn't anything, it just hasn't been said. Well, not too much has been said.

I know Champions Online is coming out and will consume my life.

They only announced a $30 HALO Expansion and they need their big holiday shooter

fixed. I'm sure MS has more stuff ready for 2009, as they did in 2008. They just don't announce all of it this early in the season. Which can be annoying for people who are impatient (like myself).

This thread baffles me. Why the hell are you worried about 2009, who the hell doesn't have a backlog. Jesus'em crow I haven't even touched the 3 games I bought at Gamestop last week. I have Infinite Undiscovery on its way cheap from Amazon and I still have 10 games in my gamefly queue and two out now with Last Remnant and Fallout 3 which I haven't even touched yet. And thats not counting Arcade games. I mean seriously, WTF!

And by March I am going to have Halo Wars and Star Ocean out. I'm actually praying for a drought this spring and summer.

I just want Nintendo/Sony/MS to show their full 2009 line-ups already, why can't E3 be January 1st

I'm not sure that they do. They've got Halo 3: ODST, Call of Duty 6 and BioShock 2 out towards the end of the year, isn't that likely to be enough for most shooter fans? The last two are out on PS3 as well, but the majority of interest in them (and sales) will surely be on 360. Halo 3: ODST will probably receive a huge marketing push too.

No joke man. I would be more than happy to have the time to go through the insane amount of
games I have missed.
-Dead Space
-Far Cry 2
-Mirrors Edge
-Fallout 3
-POP
-Left 4 dead

THE LIST NEVER ENDS!
