I don't buy anything that has been used before. I can't even imagine doing something like that. I wish I was joking, but someone once used my keyboard and mouse for several minutes and it took me 1,5 weeks just go get over that and use them again myself. And this person was a relatively clean person, if someone with filthy hands would touch it... I'd probably sell them and buy a new keyboard and mouse.

Ah, that would be the exception I guess. At one point, I will have no choice. I currently live in a used home and I had a lot of anxiety when we moved in. The house hadn't been used for a month and quite a few spiders moved in so that made it worse. A lot worse.

However, because my own room was completely empty, I could clean it entirely. That made me feel somewhat better. I spent a lot of time making sure I cleaned everything in my room. It's been one year since we moved in here and now my own room is my "safe place". This also means I have to keep it clean at all times though

I used to feel the same about books, but I've gotten over it. Most of the books I buy now are used because there are very good used book stores near me. Still I always make sure there's no highlighting or underlying in any of the books I buy... that I can't do.
