Considering the level of detail of their games, i am afraid things are going to get worst. RDR2 map "has to be" be larger and more detailed which means more wait time for us. Fly a helli above Los Santos and Blaine County and you will understand. Their work in creating open world maps is phenomenal, the downside is that we get that kind of title every "5" years.
I am a huge GTA fan, and i am trying so hard to understand what they are going to do with the franchise. Their circle until GTA 5 was :
evolution in graphics but small map (gta 3) -> something different in the same principle (vice city) -> that evolution in bigger map (san andreas)
evolution in graphics but smaller map (gta iv) -> something different in the same principle (lost and dummed - bogt) -> that evolution in bigger map (gta V)
RDR2 is going to be a larger RDR with GTA V graphics and details. That needs time.
Logic says that GTA 6 will be a start of the circle, with a not so large map but phenomenal visuals, more details and many interiors. But that logic conflicts with the success of GTA Online, which requires large map. So we probably gonna get a big map plus better graphics and detail. Imagine the time needed for that. Thank God i am not bored of GTA Online yet, thank God they give us online DLCs that i personally like and keep me in the game, its the first time i dont worry for when next GTA comes because GTA V/Online covers me completely.
