I use a Jansport Trans, fits my 13" laptop in a sleeve very well, though I think a 15" would fit as well. I can fit a couple binders, folders, and notebooks, and it's got a couple other sizable pockets if you need to put art type accessories in it. I've had mine for 3 years now (senior year of HS and first two years of college) and it's still holding up super well after daily use, and I think I paid about $30 for it. Nothing glamorous, but it gets the job done really well.

EDIT: I use the non-"SuperMax" version of the Forge Grey color of this:

I have a Magellan bag. It holds a 15" laptop comfortably, and plenty of pockets for other stuff. I like the front mini pouch to hold my thumb drives and lead refills. I've used it for nearly four years at college.

I like Timbuk2 bags a lot, I got their Commute messenger bag recently and it's great and I've had two of their backpacks which I also loved.

You should be fine with just about any generic backpack that has the pockets you need (e.g. laptop) and feels like it won't randomly break on you after a month. It's important to make sure you play with it in your hands to make sure it feels good, though.

just buy a cote and ciel it's only $750

You joke but I have this one that is canvas and cost $280 and it's amazing

Very well made and durable, small but expandable to fit pretty much everything, lots of padding and special pockets for laptop, ipad, etc... I carry two laptops, an ipad, two portable battery chargers, charging adaptors for all electronics, full size headphones, a UE Boom Bluetooth speaker, and still have lots of room and it looks great and I get lots of comments.

It seemed expensive when I first bought it but I've had it 3 years now, use it ever day, and based on the current wear and tear I would guess it will last at least 10 years.

I can vouch for Ogio and Victorinox backpacks. Solid brands, cool designs. The only issue is that they can get pricey, and should be expecting to pay $80+

However, my advice is to check Target and see their school season section. They are clearancing all their backpacks for up to 70% off and you might be to grab a very solid backpack for $10-$15.

I grabbed one for $14 to carry my fishing equipment. And let me tell you for that price it was a hell of a deal. I was so impressed by it that my girlfriend went and got a different backpack for $11 and that was even more sturdy.

Hers was a brand called Trans which is a division of Jamsport.

Osprey backpacks are great, although a bit pricy. I have a Pixel and it's great, enough compartments and pockets for everything you need.

This looks amazing. Is it really worth the $225, though? I mean, the thought of having my DSLR with me as well as my laptop, sounds just amazing.

I guess it depends how much use you will get out of it and how important carrying both of those devices is to you.

They are actually pretty good, or at least used to be before their ubiquity. A friend of mine who had kinda his own style used to have one as a school back in the late 90's, when all of us others had our Nikes and Adidases.

But yeah, kinda ruined now. :)

All of my Finnish/Swedish exchange student friends had at least one of these. My ex gf was Finnish too and she had, not one, not two but three different coloured Kankens! Bags are cool but after living in a flat with five different Finnish girls for a year, I don't want to see anymore Kanken please ;_;

Well, I carry my laptop to work daily, and I always say "damn I wish I had my camera", so you know what? I think I'm gonna jump on it.

I bought a pricey backpack years back and it was the most I have ever spent on a backpack. I never once regret it as it has held up like a champ after years of heavy use.

I don't own a booq product but I have always thought they produce some interesting backpacks. They also look great.

I'll agree with Jansport. I had the same backpack all through high school. Then I got a new one and used that all through undergrad and law school. I still have that one around and occasionally use it, though about 7mm of the seam between one of the straps and the top of the bag has since frayed, although it's still holding strong by the remainder.
