I haven't abused any of my stuff in a very long time. Probably the last time I did anything like that was when I played The Witcher 2 when it came out. I distinctly remember playing it with a controller and it was during that optional fight with stone gargoyles in Act 3. Shit was mad difficult and at some point, I dropped the controller at my feet and went to the kitchen to grab something to drink. But I didn't, like, toss it violently or anything (or so I thought). I just kinda dropped it on the ground out of frustration and intended to come back to give that fight another go, but once I did and picked up the controller, I realized that the triggers were jammed into it and the plastic was cracked, lol. I must have dropped it with a bit more force than I realized, and the fact that it landed on a hardwood floor instead of a carpet didn't help either.
Anyway, that was the last time that I remember breaking something, so it was like, what, in 2011? It was also at the time when I had no money and it was my only controller so I guess that after that incident I made it a point not to abuse my equipment because a few moments of frustration is just not worth the money. Nowadays I will just scream a hearty "FUCK" if I get frustrated enough, which is a much better way to release the tension. I'm a pretty chill gamer anyway so it's not a big deal.
