this is the DS version of Batman The Brave and the Bold

So it must be the games ive been playing, but am i the only one that is seeing this in a lot of games lately ?

Dont get me wrong, i like it, but is this a new trend or something ? any more examples out there ?

Eh, silhouettes are kind of cool, I don't love 'em or hate 'em. Though in Super Meat Boy, they make bandages harder to find, which is never cool.

it's a cool textural change. it's a great way to vary the look of the game without confusing the player

It was pretty cool in LBP. Though it does get annoying to play the level with more than one player unless one of them had shiny eyes.

Well, for one, its awesome. Having only the silhouettes and have the game still play well its a tribute to good design and art direction. Everything reads without the need of interior detail.

You also see it more now because the technology we have today makes it easy to do.

Its also a bit of a fad.

:O i really dont remember it at all, lol
It's the first time I recall having seen it, might have been the first game to do it. It tells you something that I remember that scene more vividly than any other part of that game, and that's one hell of a game.

It really is awesome. I wonder if we'll see more of it. It definetly works best on games on wich the gameplay is really refined, i mean the effect causes the games to rely on their core mechanics. I like the slight variations like DK's tie.

I can agree with this, some enemies were harder to spot in DKC returns as well.

Guess its on purpose though.

Silhouette is the term.

Not sure what kicked off the trend, there was a bunch of user made LBP levels like that.
I know in Shank they utilized them just to show off how readable their animation/poses were.
I have a feeling DKCR did it for the same reasons.

I'm gonna take a huge guess and say that most of the newest silhouete stuff is because of this dude here

Yeah, loved it in DK Country Returns. Though, it made me wonder if DK and Diddy wear glow in the dark clothes. :p

Glow in the dark would be green. It's an homage to Frank Miller's stuff.

Edit: beaten.

incorrect. it's the last surviving spartan soldier.

Ahh. Forgive me, it's been a long long time since I played GoWII

When is the game coming anyways? I've seen that trailer a dozen times already.

Nothing official has been announced, and likely won't be for a while. It should make 2011, but that's about all I can say.
