What's With the "Nintendo Doesn't Make New IPs" Notion?

Probably both - they don't care, because they're so out of touch with the majority of gamers these days that they think their offerings should be gangbusters without understanding why those gamers don't care for what they're making.

Yeah no, this is console war-tier bullshit. Honestly surprised shit like this gets passed at this year.

Don't care? At least Miyamoto has expressed disgust. I doubt the distaste resides only with him.

The point is that they do know.

It has nothing to do with console wars (we own a Wii U; we have neither a PS4 or an XB1 yet). It has to do with Nintendo's declining relevance among gamers. As I said, the elephant people keep dancing around.

You sir are a master troll. I congratulate you. Good day.

you don't think i understand what you're tying to say. i understand what you're trying to say. i'm recommending that you better articulate your position going forward. yes, that means actually researching things before you talk about them.

Haven't read the thread. Will do it later. But my interpretation is that Nintendo doesn't make enough new tentpole franchises. They have the power and whit to elevate any franchise to at least Kirby levels. Yet the most popular and recognizable new one of the last few years is who? Shulk? Seriously? They don't dump enough into their new IP. Hell, they should do that to Xenoblades. To be fair to Xenoblades, I always assumed it was part of an old existing Xeno series. They're doing it to Fire Emblem but that's not exactly new either.

You should read first then.

The point of this thread isn't to understand why so many people feel like Nintendo doesn't make enough new things, it's to prove people wrong by listing games and posting images of sequels and non-internal Nintendo games.
