What's your favorite next-gen game so far?

Resistance for me followed closely by Uncharted and Ratchet. Honorable mention goes out to Project Sylpheed. My main choices would have been Mass Effect but the large amount of technical problems do hurt the game a bit and allows the other two to edge it. I like Mass Effect a lot but its kind of frustrating that most of whats wrong with it could have been fixed.

Hmmm, this thread is ruining the surprise for GAF GOTY. Or maybe it wasn't going to be such a surprise anyway.

Super Mario Galaxy.

1. Super Mario Galaxy
2. Metroid Prime 3
3. Zelda: Twilight Princess
4. NHL 08
5. Portal / Gears of War

Once I get a PS3, I'm sure Uncharted or Ratchet will move onto that list.

The game thats probably hooked me most is Crackdown. I loved it.

Mario Galaxy is giving me the same feelings now though.

Super Mario Galaxy. If you don't count Wii it's Kameo (Yeah, I liked it this much :)).

Of course that wouldn't be a surprise. There's a pretty strong contingent of Nintendo-only people here, and for them Galaxy was a strong title coming on the heels of a really weak year. They also love polls.
There are a lot more titles that the rest of our votes will be divided between. It's like when Ross Perot handed the election to Clinton in '92, lol.

i have to say that Gears of War probably left the biggest impression on me. Is it my favorite right now? i don't know...my favorite right now is usually the game that i'm currently playing.

For sure not it's the best, but my 'favorite' is definitely Blue Dragon so far. There are a bunch of great games out for all of the current consoles and PC, but BD has just really struck a chord with me.

Uncharted Drake's Fortune, and its not even close really!

Because of school, I really haven't had all the time I've wanted to play all the new releases for this fall. . . but my favorite next gen experience so far (with limited play time) would have to be Rock Band or Eye of Judgment . However, later on this year I might have different choices.

You can say that its not a "Real Next-Gen" game if you want but its on a "Next-Gen" System, therefore its a "Real Next-Gen" game.
Believe it or not, that's my pick too.
I love this game! Can't wait for the English version.

Single player: The Elder Scrolls IV OBLIVION (PS3), how can you compete with an amazing RPG with great graphics and a multitude of quests and storylines? Having Knights of the Nine already in the box was a nice bonus as well.

Multiplayer: Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare (PS3) A very fun and deep multiplayer game with several game modes that won't leave you bored. It even includes a realism mode within the game so it will please both types of shooter fans. Guaranteed to get your return on investment with the MP alone.

My favorite is Portal, but I haven't even had a chance to play it :(

Best game that I've played is Mario Galaxy, but the demos for Uncharted and Ratchet were jaw dropping. I can't wait to rent them once I have more time for gaming.

In all honesty and sincerity...The GT demos.

After that, im really intrigued by Ass creed (and im not that far) but I think Uncharted is the better game.

With all the Dead Rising/AC fans here, I have a feeling that GTA IV is going to crack a few brains apart.

As for me, SUUUPER MAARIOOO!

Probably Assassin's Creed. Mass Effect has a strong chance of being it, if it keeps things up.
How are all of these bugs that apparently plague Mass Effect? Is it really true that you sometimes can't use things during battles when you're supposed to? How can a reviewer give that a 9? :\

I am not sure if this counts, because it's on a last-get console, but the game came out a few months ago, but I'd have to say Persona 3 for sure. If that doesn't count (probably doesn't), then hands down Blue Dragon.

Orange Box. Even though HL2 is an old game that belongs in the Xbox era, it feels to me like a next gen game.

Followed by Heavenly Sword. Not a huge fan of its repetitive gameplay but the presentation itself is the best Ive ever seen.

I wanna play AC and Mass Effect too and see what the big fuss is. I have very high hopes for Alan Wake, whenever that comes out.

Agreed. Oblivion hasn't been played lately only because when I get started I need to dedicate about 8+ hours/sitting to it. It's a great game even if you choose not to follow the story and just explore the world. I'm sure I'll put quite a few hours into it again once the weather gets bad.

CoD4 multiplayer is probably the closest thing I've played to Counter Strike. The leveling system is addictive and the gameplay makes me just as mad when I would die in CS. I hope they realize how good this is and keep it fresh with new weapons and maps.
