Gen 5: Conkeldurr, Sawk/Throh, Miensho, Emboar, Scafty, Swords of Justice, (Great gen for Fighting types)
Gen 6: Hawlucha, Pangoro, Chesnaught

How does this chart factor in gyms/e4 members that changed during a Crystal-like addition?

I didn't take Champions or changing gyms in 3rd versions into account at all. I also completely left out the first Black/White gym instead of including it as +1 to Grass, Fire and Water.

I probably use Water, Dragon and Dark types the most on my teams. Psychic and poison are somewhere in there too. I almost always have 2 water types in my party, but with different sub-types.

Mine would be Steel for sure, I just love the designs of most steel types and how much they resist, I'm still salty about how it lost its Dark and Ghost resistance in gen VI.
Second favourite is a tie between Psychic and Fighting, I also have a soft spot for gen V bug types.

Sigh, I'm so ready for a new mainline Pokemon game. I love the build up to it, seeing a new Pokemon now and then, new world etc. Hope they'll still make one for the 3DS.

For me it's got to be water and electric types. I started my Pokémon journey with Pokémon Yellow with Pikachu as my starter (obviously).
Apart from that, I've always picked the water type as my starter for all the other Pokémon games.

Water. I like aquatic animals and that's what makes up a lot of the water type Pokemon.

A close second is Psychic, I think the concept is awesome and the Abra-Kadabra-Alakazam line is still my favorite of all time.
