When Will a Black Actor Get to Have Their Deadpool Moment?

Not sure if it's been said yet, but ice cube continues to be in a lot of bad movies.

What does bad have to do with anything, his movies make money and he had to create his opportunities by writing and directing his own films after being cast in Boyz N The Hood by a Black director. Not to mention Ice Cube was already a star in music before doing film, a reoccurring theme amongst a lot of African American actors who received opportunities they would have otherwise never got if they were unknown like a lot of White actors get

I honestly think Marvel missed an opportunity in not making Danny Rand Asian American.
it WAS a huge missed opportunity! i hope i don't come off sounding racist by saying i would've been so hyped for the show if they got an Asian to be the star, like Glenn or someone especially since he's out of work atm.

Yes, Dev Patel will be the got to Brown actor, just like Morgan Freeman is the go to old and wise black guy actor, and Samuel Jackson is the go to Black actor for everything else. LOL
ah well they're not always typecast, are they? perhaps they kinda are but they are some of hollywood's biggest stars. there obviously aren't as many black stars in hollywood as there are white but black actors have come a long way. and there are others making way as well, there's that dr. dre who's in the walking dead and also starring in his own show, i see flyers for it on the subway.

and michael b. jordan is becoming a bankable star, with creed being a hit, and he's landed a role in the MCU.

You mean how Will Smith keeps getting work? The man has been in worse movies than Ryan Reynolds. Or perhaps Cuba Gooding Jr, Laurence Fishburne?

I understand what the writer is trying to get at, but he's using all the bad examples. Reynolds fought long and hard to get Deadpool off the ground, took a lower paycheck and even did the publicity for free.

If you think Will Smith and Ryan Reynolds are on the same stratosphere, you are kind of proving the articles point.

b/c when you say black you also mean the other races except to people who don't actually want progress and just say it to distract from the talk
Hold up. No, I completely disagree to just equate black with all minorities. That would be the same as saying that all minorities should feel represented when black actors get roles. It is the exact same thing as telling people to get in line and let the white people make progress first, except replace white with black.

Well in general, I do agree with Prototype Viktor when it comes to Black issues and movements in this country that change or create laws and policies usually end up benefitting everybody especially other minorities.

However, in this specific instance, I agree with you, in terms of Hollywood representation and more Blacks being cast in movies has no correlation with other minorities being cast and progress being made on that end.
