In Europe it's still borderline impossible to buy one for RRP, and extremely hard even if you are willing to pay hundreds more. If pre-orders from October are only now being fulfilled, and there are still millions of people actively looking to buy one in short order, I don't see the situation really getting any better any time soon.
The combination of stifled production + abnormal demand + people losing their job and taking up scalping full-time could have clogged up the entire system so bad that until early 2022 and beyond it might become relatively easy to buy a PS5, but still almost impossible to do so at RRP.
On the other hand, the GPU situation on PC is even worse, because it's all that + a new crypto-mining bubble that just started to inflate a few months back, which multiplies the demand to a theoretical infinity as long as a GPU can repay itself in a few months and start generating profit by mining Ethereum.
