Where the Heck is Advance Wars 3DS

The one thing I've never been able to get a hand of is 3 or 4 player battles.

My brain just can't process how to actually tackle them.

This thread has taught me that every character can be considered pandering because there's going to be someone who has a penchant for whatever trait.

Loved Days of Ruin (hadn't played any of them before that), with Hiroaki handling the character designs being what first caught my attention as a result of enjoying his work with SNK and The King of Fighters series, but still have yet to actually finish it. Never could get past mission 20 (Waylon Flies Again), no matter how many times I played it.
Scratch that: I finally beat that mission after picking up the game on and off, after FOUR YEARS of owning the game, and even S-ranked it. I should have listened to Isabella earlier.

I just hope that when Advance Wars is announced that it comes to JPN and NA with relative quickness. Kind of BS that we have to wait on fire emblem until 2013 when it's been out months in Japan.

I know text translation and all that, but I guarntee the game easily could have made the 2012 window.

Ugh, yea if we get a new Advance Wars game, it's going to be a hell of a wait :(

with all the Days of Ruin complaining, i still need to play Dual Strike, how is that game compared to DoR then in terms of artwork and overall fun?

it's just one dude complaining and no one really understood it.

Personally, I think it's the best game in the series, because it has the best mechanics, units and tweaks. It's wonderful in that regard.

Some people don't like it as much as others because it's relatively slim in terms of content compared to others, especially DS. But It'll still be over 20 (30?) hours to beat the campaign and there's a lot more extra maps to play with. It also includes the old famicom maps as series tradition.

Tone wise, it's quite a departure, and while I prefer the lighthearted feel of the others, this is still quite welcomed and manages to lose all the baggage the others stories began to have (kindle seriously?). It has it's dramatic cheesy moments and it's funny moments as well, so humor is not completely neglected. But the idea of war still being done even after a natural disaster of such scale is pretty interesting.

Anyone have anything new on a possible 3DS entry for this series? I only played the first one on GBA, but have been jonsing to play an AW game again..would really prefer to play a new 3DS entry rather than one of the older ones.

in the past year and a half IS has put out 4 games. They also have two announced for Wii u so I'm not even sure they have time for AW right now unless they have more than one team.

IS has been incredibly busy over the last couple of years--they've developed Paper Mario: Sticker Star, Fire Emblem Awakening, Pushmo and Crashmo for 3DS, are working on Game & Wario and SMTxFE (in whatever capacity) for Wii U AND had to go into overdrive providing SDKs to developers in order to supplement the official Nintendo kits. I don't know where they'd even find the time to make a new Advance Wars.

That being said, it really needs to happen. Days of Ruin style, or not, I don't care either way, just give me asynchronous online multiplayer and I'm good.

Not yet but I would guess it will probably happen eventually. Intelligent Systems (the dev team who makes them) has been super busy on 3DS development with Pushmo, Crashmo, Fire Emblem Awakening, and Paper Mario Sticker Star. They're also working on the upcoming Game & Wario and Shin Megami Tensei/Fire Emblem Crossover games for Wii U. So yeah, they're busy. 3DS is still young though so I suspect they'll do an Advance Wars at some point. There were two on DS though (Dual Strike and Days of Ruin) that you could play on your 3DS. Since you have only played the original I highly recommend checking them out.

She's, uh, running around in a sports bra and low-rise jeans?

Geez. Do you have on slut goggles that make anything look way more sexual than it actually is? A sports bra? It's called a tanktop. Aside from the outfit showing her midriff (which isn't even a big deal), there is absolutely nothing overtly sexual about it.

Oh and they're COs. They're not fighting themselves. They can wear whatever they want to

Boney is wrong because Boney
Dual Strike is awesome and DoR sucks, if the series has to continue with DoR-like games then i prefer it to stay dead.

I would love to see another one. I don't even care whether it has the Days of Ruin style or the old one--I just want another Advance Wars game.

It's been five years now since Days of Ruin came out, though, and there's still no sign of a new one. That, plus the fact that Days of Ruin was never released in Japan, doesn't bode well for the series...

So far it only exists in my dreams.

I hope they do one soon though. I'd prefer them to carry on from Dual Strike, but I don't really mind if they do something like DC again. I just need more Advance Wars.

It'd be nice if Nintendo released all the Japanese only ones on the Virtual Console in a Hanabi Festival to help tide me over.

This series seems like a perfect one for a $15-20 download title. It's not a very graphics intensive game. They already have the engine ready to go, let's get this done.

You never know, there is a chance we'll see it at the 3DS ND that shows what's coming up.

Be sad to see sprites go though. Also better return to pre-DoR story with all the unnecessary COs.

I really loved Days of Ruin. The balance was near perfect and I much preferred it over Dual Strike. With that said, both are amazing games alongside the GBA titles.

Damn I'm sad now. At least Fire Emblem is coming, I'm pretty fucking happy with that alone.
