Where Winds Meet |OT| Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

This has cross-play and progression between PC and PS5 (xbox eventually?) I wonder if it will at least have cross progression w mobile version too? Anyone know? Would be nice to be able to play this one at home on big screen and sometimes on phone or tablet when im away and have progression sync between the two.

It has. You can link your account in the start screen

Did no one mention the AI NPCs yet?

I hope this is not the future. Having to convince the AI to be your friend was fun for 5 minutes but there are hundreds of them and it's just boring and tedious.

I just don't get this game's controls. I can't even get past the intro's boss.

Something is really not clicking.

Wow, the story actually acknowledges if you buy the Ephemeral Bloom outfit in the paid store. There's a moment where you have to disguise yourself but if you bought the outfit, your character mentions they already have it and that they only paid 60 echo beads for it. The store discount is canon to the story lol

Dont do it then. Why do you need to befriend everyone in the game? lol.

On top of that, if you write in parenthesis what you want to happen, the game will automatically convince the npc

Hit 229k peak on Steam today, will definitely go even higher tomorrow. Seems like it's doing pretty well on PS5 too

I am not surprised. The game is a blast and every encounter in the open world feels unique with his own rewards and such.

They have cooked with this game.

People really don't understand how profitable "free to play" games actually are

If the F2P model wasn't making money, there wouldn't be so many games which follow this financial model
If you think about it, fixed costs games cap the theoretical price that can be extracted. F2P rips the lid off and you can see just how much people are willing to pay over time

OK, I played for about 2 hours the night the game released and bounced off of it because of a lot of the confusing f2p elements - multiple menus, currencies, etc... but after skimming this thread and seeing some gameplay videos on youtube, I'm willing to give it another shot.

I'm still in the prologue, so I assume that I complete that and then everything opens up?

I'm serving wine at my hot aunt's place right now.

Are there any skills I should be sure to pick up first? Any suggestions on the best weapon combos? Anything else I should know?

Deleted from ps5 after 7h. Tired of seeing red dots everywhere. Not bad but far trom what I want from a mmorpg.

Feels absolutely like a mobile game experience. I played Genshin at launch on ps4 and it was never that.

Combat is good enough but it also is parry slop.

Fkin love the setting bc i read alot of murim manhwa and they almost all set in Jianghu.

Talking via chat or voice with NPCs feels wild, really liked that.

Not for me but i can atleast say that they nailed some parts of the game.

yeh the menus are lil bit eek :D

there is million guides in YT tho, also shouldnt worry abt anything til u are atleast lvl41 ^^ game is still confusing for me and i have 100hrs in :P

I'm a level 41, just raised the cap to 50. Fought those bosses multiple times just for the pleasure of doing so. I'm fighting level 45 enemies. There's so many different types of events and then challenges to unlock advancements. Sounds like a lot, but I've gotten a lot of enjoyment out of those trials.

So far I've enjoyed the combat and the bosses. The story I'm a bit lost on and maybe part of it is from culture shock? I don't quite get the appeal of having multiple back and forth conversations about paying for a bill. As for the overall game, it has a great way of surprising you with new locations, bosses and finding new gear. I considered the season pass. Still not quite sure.

It's been awhile since I've found a game strong enough to pull me back into games compared to more recent interests. WWM is currently taking up most of my free time which is not easy but this one has done it. Main reason is due to the excellent combat system that is simple to learn but has quite some depth, especially with mixing of various weapon types and inner skills. Feels like this game is a mix between RDR, Black Myth Wukong, Ghosts of Tsushima, Elden Ring, Dragons Dogma, even has 1v1 and Battle Royal elements. The crazy thing is I still have not gotten to the main city and still on the first area, Qinghe.

Edit: Keep in mind this doesn't include PC players using the standalone launcher, like myself.

The witch boss fight is no joke. I'm getting my ass kicked.

Ok, what's the deal with weapon types?

Should I take the time to unlock them all or should I just focus on a couple?

What are most people using for single player? Right now I'm using what I started with - sword and lance but I'm thinking about switching one of those out for fan for some healing.

I suspect in the long run I should definitely keep sword, but I find lance a lot more fun

If you have to blame anything for this comparison, blame Ghost of Tsushima. Ghost of Yotei is the sequel, so understandable, have a nice day. Where Winds Meet has cited Tsushima as one of the inspirations for its world design. And with Assassin's Creed Shadows, let's be honest – this wouldn't have happened if Tsushima didn't perform so well.

But while Jin Sakai's quest is the common thread, each of these open-world titles offers something unique, whether it's in their settings, protagonists or overall direction. Which emerges as the clear favorite? Let's delve into every single aspect, starting with...

So this is a strange one.. apparently you can buy inventory slots with coin, but only if your UI is set to Chinese lol
Gonna assume it's another localization oversight

Love this game but the quality of the localization is all over the fucking place lol

Edit: Nice, looks like they fixed it already!

This game is turning me into a fast reader machine.

The speed those english subtitles fly from the screen is insane. I start reading them and they go:

This game is making me regret not doing some mahjong lessons during my playtime with Yakuza games.

Also regarding that area post act one ending: I'm assuming it was some sort of heaven gate, since well, everyone we met there ended up dead in the story. I walked around there for quite some time and I could not find Ruby, so I'm guessing she's probably alive and will emerge down the road to save our ass. They can't get away with killing off our little sister.

Just did a random sidequest where a group of dogs was harassing an old man every morning at breakfast time and I had to figure out why. Turns out the man was neutering the dogs of the village, but the leader of the pack witnessed him preparing some chicken eggs for breakfast and mistook them for testicles, so the dog took it upon himself to protect the other dogs from getting their balls chopped and eaten. To resolve the quest, I had to collect fur from different dogs which we rolled into balls and glued back onto him so that he can have the confidence to fight another male dog over a female dog. This game... :messenger_grinning_smiling:

Also got on my first yacht this morning. I assume the player was an oil prince or something because he initiated a SECOND yacht shortly after the first one ended, but I skipped the second one because I wanted to continue the story that unlocked today.

What's the quickest way to get a Dragon Key?

I am trying to learn skills for a weapon, need one to open a cave entrance, and don't have one on me.

I just met a elder surrounded by six cats, and proceeded to ask him if any of the cats could play any music instruments.

He told me no, they couldn't, so I introduced him to Keyboard Cat and (shown him the youtube video on my smartphone).

He was astonished by such device and became my friend.

10/10.

Yessssssss, those subs are way to fast, if I'm not locked in and ready to read, I'll just miss it. I tried even looking in options for some setting to prolong them for 2 seconds.
