My family is coming this year to see the tree in NYC and want to eat there. I live work and go to NYC everyday however I don't know much about Manhattan.

Any suggestions good food around there that isn't an arm and a leg? I know its a bit early bit I like to have things planned out.

that guy fieri place obviously

The McDonalds there has a PIANO.

Then you can go next door and get some M&Ms for dessert at the M&M store.

What style of food are they looking for, what's their budget, and do they care at all about eating at the latest and greatest hype restaurant? I live a block away, so I can help you out a bit.

the halal guys cart that everyone talks about

(we just had it elsewhere instead of that one specific cart when we went last year)

First off your rent must be insane! Secondly I mean we have money but I think they mostly want to experience somewhere nice in times square ...what's some suggestions you have?

Protip: Don't eat in Times Square. Go to Hell's Kitchen instead.

One more thing, don't stop in the middle of the sidewalk to take pictures. Thanks.

10th ave and 45th
Go to Pony Bar
Get Braized Lamb sliders
drink amazing beer
be happy

Or go to 43rd and 10th
Pio Pio
amaze Peruvian food

The nearest Sabrett hot dog cart. With onions and mustard. Two of them.

Was going to recommend the gyro cart around 47th and 6th if it's still there.

Also a knish with mustard inside. Portable heaven.

But yeah, don't eat around Times Square.

Halal Guys at 53rd and 6th
Shake Shack at 44th and 8th
GoGo Curry at 38th and 8th

There is only one answer:

This whole "don't eat there" thing doesn't work when you are in the area, need to eat and don't have time to run to another area of new york.

Take em to BBQ's for the full times square experience, they'll seat you in one huge room that's as crowded as outside with windows over 42nd street, and you'll probably get served by a sassy puerto rican waitress from queens.

i wouldn't

try finding a nice place along 9th ave or take a cab someplace nice in any one of manhattan's many non-terrible neighborhoods

Fine. It's been a few years since I lived in NYC, but I'll help.

John's Pizza on 44th is a decent pizza place, but a cool place to eat since it's in an old church. Also won't break the bank.

Carmines serves big family style dishes that will make you regret how much you ordered.

Old Patsy's (not the pizza joint) is another old classic. IIRC they make a mean scarporella.

Otherwise, take a walk down Little Brazil on 46th b/t 5th and 6th that has some good local places just can't remember the names of the ones I liked.
