Where's the Platinum Games love?

BAYO 2 WOULD NOT EXIST without Nintendo. You have NO REASON to like Platinum Games ANY LESS because this game is being put on Wii U.

The game would never have gone to you in the first place! Stop talking about how this changes your feelings towards P*. They announce games when they get hired for work. Nintendo hired them first. Hate Nintendo!
I am going to buy a Wii U specifically for Bayonetta 2. While I am glad the game exists, it doesn't change the fact that I am mad that I have to buy such a lame duck of a platform to play it.

Once all the games are out for the system everyone will stop saying this.

Was the Monster Hunter crowd so resistant either?
Well to be fair most of the guys who seems to be not buying the games due to being on Wii U, weren't any frequent in the past p* threads.

I MIGHT feel that way had this week's Nintendo Direct not happened....
But it did. And now it is no longer a console solely for Bayonetta 2 for me, but also for Wonderful 101, for Mario World or whatever, Mario Kart, X, new Donkey Kong - and that suddenly makes it for 6+ games, many of which will last for more than months of gametime. Especially Bayonetta 2 (if the first game is any indication :P), X and Mario Kart.

There's no chance they won't remain exclusive. One, as you know, is funded by Nintendo, while the other is a Nintendo IP.

Ah, I didn't know 101 was actually a full on Nintendo IP. But, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Platinum say that there was a possibility of Bayonetta 2 getting a multipat release if they could work it out with Nintendo? I thought I read that recently, but maybe I was hallucinating hope.

What they said was that it was up to Nintendo. ;)

I really want to see these posts.

They are mostly in the same vein as the "Xenoblade is not a Nintendo game" posters, i.e. Not Mario/Zelda gaem.

port begging, whining and shit and now we've come back full circle with Nintendo hate and Xenoblade 3rd party funsies.

I wanna see Fire Emblem on the Xbone now.

Nope. Platinum has made it very clear that it can't be.

I realize it's unlikely, but I don't think it's impossible. I won't holding my breath for it or anything, but would think that P* could work something out with them.

This. Now that Nintendo has announced Bayo 2, they need to follow up with more games like Bayo 2 for the platform. End of story.

Bayonetta 3 :p

Suggest one single reason why Nintendo would agree to that.

To be clear, you are saying that Nintendo, after rescuing this game from being canned, and paying for it's development and advertising, going so far as to have Platinum come along with them to promote the game at E3, should decide that maybe they should allow the game to be released on rival platforms....just because?

Hey Nintendo, remember that game you helped fund and promote?

Whadda ya say you let us release it on your competitors system?

Pretty please

Believe me I do hate Nintendo from the bottom of my soul.
This is a rational way to feel about a big, multi-national company that makes games you don't like.

You're absolutely right. Platinum might go to Nintendo and ask for the title that they funded to be ported to other hardware.

Nintendo would laugh them out of the building, but such is life.

In what possible sense would it be to Nintendo's advantage to allow their exclusives to leave the Wii U?

It is impossible. Don't hope for it.

I really want to see these posts.

There was a thread a couple of months ago, "How can people not like 'Nintendo Games'?". A number of people used games like Fire Emblem to nullify the "Nintendo games are all platformers with no story" posts, while unfortunately you also had plenty of these kinds of posts:

Some of my favorite 3rd party franchises are on Nintendo platforms (Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, Professor Layton, all the best 2D Castlevanias), but I just can't bring myself to care about any of their 1st party offerings these days.

Mario and Zelda games just don't elicit any emotion from me anymore (though I am going to the Zelda Symphony this year). Metroid isn't enough to get me to buy hardware anymore. I never liked Super Smash Bros.

Call me jaded, but the last thing that Nintendo put out that excited me was Metroid Prime 3, and even that was a bit underwhelming. Last game I played on my Wii before selling it.

EDIT:

We got people asking if FE Awakening will release on the Vita eventually in the OT.

Most of those posts weren't sarcasm.

Jesus christ, I somehow managed to miss this.

Yes. Nintendo is not generating enough salt. More games like Bayo 2, 'X', SMT x FE PLEASE!

Yes, waiting on Zack and Wiki 2... but Monster Hunter... shame on you :p

You're right, that was messed up me to forget them and Ace Attorney (and everything else Shu Takumi shits out Ghost Trick was godly)

Believe me I do hate Nintendo from the bottom of my soul. But think about it : Bayo 2 not existing makes me just a little sad, but Bayo 2 existing and out of reach is some giant frustration.

From a point of hating certain outlets when it comes to gaming I can kinda understand, because I have this deeprooted hatred for Sony (probably because of fans or some shit- other than I don't really feel that they genuinely care about gaming), but it's weird (and contradicting as fuck) of me, because I can't help but feel baffled when I hear someone say they hate Nintendo... Who the hell hates the toymaker that's purely about toys? But I can respect that you're honest about it.

People whine when a console doesn't have any games they want. People whine when a console has games they want.

People whine when it's hot. People whine when it's cold. People just like to whine, especially gamers. The best game of its kind is, against all odds, getting a sequel, and gamers are complaining about it. It's absolutely pathetic.

That was so beautiful it could be poetry.

This thread is delivering in spades.

Unfortunately. :/

Sometimes you gotta sit back and enjoy the nonsense.

Maybe for continued work, or to trade doing one of Nintendo's IPs or something of that nature. I mean, really, it's not likely, as I said, but I don't think it's impossible. You bastards aren't going to crush my vague hope, I WON'T ALLOW IT!

It's impossible

There's a reason why twin snakes never made it to any of the MGS trilogy rereleases

I mean, at this point, I'd even prefer it if Platinum stuck to Wii U only, it'd save me having to think about whether I'd want any of the other consoles. Or maybe port all the other multiplatform games to PC or something, that'd make things simpler.

Just let us think for a minute that Nintendo was okay with a port, do you think Sega would publish this? Not until hell froze over.

They almost canceled the release of AR in the west and they canned bayo 2.

I'm embarrassed that you spout such foolishness while carrying the name 'Shauni'.

Beyond Good & Evil reference, no offence :)

You should know then, that you gotta have hope sometimes, no matter how futile. Hope and a fat anthropomorphic, humanoid pig. We can't let go, I can't let go :(

If you buy a Wii U, you won't need vague hope.

That's kinda why it's exclusive in the first place. You want this title, you know where to go.

While you're at it, you can hope for Mario on Xbone. Because it's about as likely to happen.

Yeah, it's definitely not off the table to buy one for me. Even if I don't, I'll still probably buy Bayonetta 2 and 101, and just sit there and stare them. Imagination is the greatest console.

And why is that?

Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge. I had the finger on the preorder button when they announced that. And then came the whole emphasis about Kasumi being in the game and it seemed really fishy (not to mention irratating) to see Tecmo doing all this stuff for WiiU owners while PS360 players had supported them since the IP was reintroduced. Turns out what? Nintendo was purposely asking Tecmo to conceal the fact that they had PS360 versions in development, so as to have Ninja Gaiden fans dump 350€ in their hardware. That's what Micorsoft did with JRPGs, it's called deceiving people and it's ugly, dirty and despicable commercial practices.

They did the same for RE: Revelations and also tried with Rayman Legends.

What?

That's not a despicable practise, that's standard. You really hate Nintendo because they had a timed exclusive?

Nintendo is a charitable organization that will release their games on competitors' platforms.

Welcome to what is called "timed exclusives".

Once all the games are out for the system everyone will stop saying this.
I have no interest in platform wars bullshit so I would be more than happy to eat a nice serving of crow; however, the fact remains that, as a person who owns every Nintendo console under the sun, Nintendo's pedigree as a platform holder is spotty, and the current state of the Wii U combined with my profound disappointment in the Wii do not inspire confidence.

I MIGHT feel that way had this week's Nintendo Direct not happened....

I am a big fan of Zelda, Smash and Mario Kart, but Skyward Sword, Mario Kart 7 and especially Brawl were all big letdowns for me, so I am not automatically sold on their quality any more.

Nintendo's branding and output during the Wii really soured my attitude towards them.

Oh well... So you might start hating every single game company out there. Remember Sony and the PSN hacking? Ugly, dirty and despicable commercial practice.

And Microsoft is trying to conceal some games are coming to PS4 as well... so...

This thread keeps getting better and better. Hating Nintendo for NG3 hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahagahagagagagagagahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahagagagagahahahahahahaha

There's quite a lot of mentions of w101 and Bayo2 in the E3 Community.
Good. I want Platinum to feel welcomed at their new home. Have our best artists compose a mural of the finest P* referenced art imaginable!

Man, if this is the first time you've heard shit like this then the shit you find in Sony's closet must be soul crushing.

Everyone else has already pointed out how crazy this is, so I won't get into it. I'll just say that this is something everyone does, including Sony and Microsoft.

However, you might want to re-read the Rayman Legends situation again. I lost a hell of a lot of respect for the Ubisoft higher ups over that.

Christ. Where to start?

You know what, I won't. I can't. Otherwise I will be here all day.

All I will say is if you hate Nintendo for those (most, if not all, Nintendo had nothing to do with by the way), then you surely must hate Sony and Microsoft at least 5 times more.

Good grief.
