Naughty Dog - Incredible levels of quality and presentation.
Valve - All of their internally developed games are fun, even if not all my style of game.
From Software - Apart from the amazing Souls games, they still have really entertaining quirky games that I always have fun with (Ninja Blade, Otagi, etc)
Sony Santa Monica - Technically some of the best games on each platform they develop for, and usually right up my alley on game type.
If you'd have asked me this question like 15 years ago, I'd have said only one name - Squaresoft. Funny how that's changed so dramatically in that I'm interested in almost none of their games now.
Square-Enix for Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. I know they've had some rough games since XIII but I still will be on board with no questions asked any time a new Final Fantasy drops. The series just means that much to me, and even at its worst no one else delivers quite what Final Fantasy does.
This thread will yield quite a number of justifications for the choices made; in the end they would be examples of how we are enablers of the current state of games, esp. AAA.
None I follow games that interest me and not developers themselves. Some good devs make games I wouldn't like at all and some questionable ones have made some great stuff.
Bethesda: Elder Scrolls VI. But that's about the only thing where i could do this. (And even then, it must be PC version, preferably once unofficial patches are out.)
In reality, there would be none. I mean even if I really like Naughty Dog, i wouldn't buy a game unseen especially if its a genre that I don't normally play. I wouldn't buy a racing game by Naughty Dog for example.
That said, assuming it's a genre I like then : Falcom (JRPGS) Naughty Dog(story driven Action games) and Nintendo (platformers).
- Naughty Dog
- Turn 10
- Treyarch/Sledgehammer/IW (lumped them together as their respective next games will all be CoD)
- Polyphony Digital (even given their PS3 struggles)
- Rockstar
- Guerilla Games (I've always loved KZ, and say what you want, but they support their customers)
- Housemarque
Even EAD occasionally develop something like Wii Music or Steel Diver. Everyone saying Platinum and From have won themselves copies of The Legend of Korra and Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor.
