I traveled out of my way yesterday to the only Arby's in NYC to get this Jamocha shake.

Holy shit, it is the future.
I'm gonna go with that thing. Jesus, is it good.
*thumbs up soldier*

How are these milkshakes made is what I wonder. When I worked at a Steak n Shake, we used flavorless low fat ice cream and shot flavoring syrup into the mix. Granted they tasted great. I'm just wondering if it's the same at all fast food milkshake shops or if some do use real flavored ice cream to do their shakes.

Ohhh...that sounds good. There's one across from my car wash later so I'll have to try.

I noticed the Black Cow isn't on the online menu. It might have been a limited time thing.. or it might be the same thing that the Jamocha is now.

May not be the best but they are damn good.

Funny you should mention that, my girlfriend's sister used to work at Steak and Shake and she told me that they do NOT use ice cream in their shakes. They use some mysterious "shake mix".

Unless of course they've changed the shakes in the past few years.

psst, I already said that :)

This is not true. Steak n' Shake does not use real ice cream in their milkshakes. They say that their milkshakes are "hand dipped" in their commercials, which is true. However, what they scoop to put in is not ice cream, it's what is called "shake mix" which has the same consistency as ice cream but it's completely flavorless (it's actually quite gross eaten plain). They use that plus syrup of the flavor ordered and that makes the shake.

Anyway, I vote Cook Out, Their shakes are incredible.

Actually, you described a Jamocha shake, but where would they call it Black Cow?

mcdonald's vanilla milkshake...it's always even better than i remember it.

but thx to this thread i'm down to try the chik-fil-a one.

then again, the best milkshakes in the world are from johnny rocket's, but idk if they count as fast food. [chocolate peanut butter]

For Canadians, I tried the Harvey's one. The ads say "made with real ice cream!" I believe it, cause that's all it tastes like. Regular chocolate ice cream.

While I voted for Cook Out the other day, I do have to give honorable mention to the shakes from the Varsity in Atlanta. That place rocks.
