Which game's fanbase has been treated the worst?

Aliens

It's definitely Mega Man.

Getting new, shitty releases in your favourite franchise is one thing.

Getting no entries in your favourite franchise is another.

But being constantly teased about games that are cancelled at every occasion is just on a completely different level.

I would say PC GTA fans, they wait months for the game to come to the PC and then get treated with a shitty port that barely can be categorised as an Alpha build. Then they get gaming breaking patches up to a point where Rockstar just gives up.

Fans of Star Wars have had it kinda rough.

Star wars had a better run than most gaming communities though.

I'm not really a huge Tales fan myself, but they definitely have had it rough in the west(Though it seems to be getting slightly better for them).

Honorable mention to one of my favorite Genres: The Entire Mech Genre. Mechwarrior Online is an abomination of F2P ideologies($500 if you want a clan mech), and there hasn't been a decent entry in the genre for years....

Edit:

SimCity

Nothing new for 10 years and then EA releases one of the worst products in gaming's history.

This too deserves to be way up the list....

Zelda, Mario, Silent Hill, Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Uncharted, Metroid, Kirby, Shenmue, Sonic

We ought to be giving reasons really.

As a Final Fantasy fan, I really don't feel like I've been treated badly. I still enjoy the new mainline titles. Have there been some questionable decisions?

Sure. But I do think to some extent the fanbase seems to carry around this sense of entitlement that would only be placated by square creating numerous clones of FF7...

As for Sonic - this one I agree with. I loved the Mega Drive (Genesis) games and the cartoon series (The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog) and everything since then seems to have been a total bastardisation of everything Sonic was. And who the hell is Eggman? It's Robotnik.

Shenmue. The only thing they did for the fans was release an Xbox version of the sequel that didn't even come to North America, and I'm pretty sure that was MS-funded. Literally no news since the Shenmue Online abortion.

Release some goddamn novels or something, Sega.
