Yes, just quoting someone without saying anything of value really is a horrible post. Congratulation on making it.Luthos said:Worst post on gaf.

I honestly went through the intro and up to Mislato River (ch 3) three times. :lolDrkirby said:Really, after 3 or 4 hours of gameplay, something grabbed me. I honestly wanted to see what happened next, since the story wasn't to predictable.
Did you try pressing Start or holding X during those scenes, out of curiosity?NaughtyCalibur said:Damn you just reminded me of this one. Maybe I was playing it wrong or something, but having to endure the same dialogue scenes over and over again wasn't my idea of fun. Got tired of it really quickly.
Aeana said:If you're giving up after 30 minutes, then you aren't really getting to see what's really special about them, unfortunately.
Dark Schala said:Wow @ the Suikoden replies. :lol
As for the Suikoden IV reply...
I didn't think it was as bad as a lot of people made it out to be. Sure, it's a weak Suikoden entry, but it isn't terrible. Just mediocre in comparison to the other games. But I will concede that world map travel was boring. Of course, I might be positively biased towards the series in general! [insert avatar quote here].
Dark Schala said:Did you try pressing Start or holding X during those scenes, out of curiosity? You can skip those dialogue scenes by doing so!But it's cool if you didn't like the game. I have no issues with that.

Stick to rhythm games, Korea. No RPGs.
Definitely this. I did beat it but it's the first game i ever sold back to Amazon. Game was just dreadful, I really wanted to like it because I love westerns and Sergio Leone stuff but Rockstar's GTA4-like formula ruins this games potential imo. I actually liked GTA4 as well but at least GTA4 had some good characters, a nice world to explore and great car physics. Red Dead is like GTA4 but without any of that. At least Red Dead's visuals and atmosphere are great though, i'd buy a cheap PC version on Steam to see the game maxed out.LOVE & TRUTH said:![]()
The most boring game I have. Started it three times but can't force myself to play it.
Blue Dragon was anther one that I tried to like but couldn't. I even got it for free but couldn't get into it. I think I got like 2 or 3 hours in a gave up.ArachosiA 78 said:Most recently...

Most RPGs have pretty boring intros. You shouldn't go into an RPG expecting to see the best of what it has to offer in 30 minutes.IchigoSharingan said:A game that is so slow to interest you even after 30 minutes is a terribly designed game. I'm not saying they should make it ADHD style, but you get what I mean.

It's my favorite boring game.

Same. The GTA's have that effect on me. Crackdown too.Instro said:Any GTA.
The main problem with Suikoden 3 is the dungeons are really poor (Most of them are just walking in a single direction though 5 rooms), their is only 3 bosses that aren't just you fighting characters that later join your party, and the battle system is utterly boring.ULTROS! said:Speaking of Suikoden III, I wouldn't say it's bad but I do have major annoyances:
-- No world map and not enough locations. I can get past with the no world map but it could have been better if there were more locations.Every character with a portrait except for Leknaat and Lulu becomes a part of the 108 Stars of Destiny. Personally, I though they ran out of ideas and forced every character to be part of the 108 stars, including the villains.
- Each time you choose the next story (Geddoe, Hugo, Chris, probably Thomas), you have to retread the story in their point of view. Kinda like FFIV: After Years. It's not bad but it gets tiresome. This probably made the entire game long (assuming 10 hours per character, that makes it 40 hours). If you actually do it in one point of view, you can complete the game in around 25-35 hours, with the 108 Stars.
But still, Suikoden IV's world map bored that shit out of me. I'd give Suikoden III a tinge higher than Suikoden IV, but GS 1, 2, and 5 leave them to dust.

Zelda: Twilight Princess
Resident Evil 4
Xenosaga
The Witcher (yes, the first game is boring as hell)
Borderlands
Red Dead Redemption
L.A. Noire
Grand Theft Auto IV
Fallout 3
EVE Online
No way. Suikoden has always been tedious for me, but I forced myself to play through all of 3, all storylines in fact. I just didn't want to believe I'd wasted $40.Forkball said:You get the hell out of here.
Excuse me for preferring a good tactical shooter or a good CRPG rather than a series that does both poorly in an uninspired setting.Zeal said:.
oh, and someone said the Mass Effect series bored them? lol, stop playing games.

Game got dull halfway through that big castle. That's where I dropped it.artwalknoon said:Okay some of your list I can see but can you explain the RE 4 boredom?

ugh...just..ugh..forced myself to make it to the third iteration.
TheExodu5 said:Honestly...that one is hard to explain. I've never been able to get much more than a few hours into it. I think a lot of it has to do with the scenery, poor controls, and the need to be so meticulous when going into an area. Too much going around needing to find all the hidden ammo, and the jewelry you can sell. The scenery is just dull and lifeless and ugly (graphically, not from an artistic standpoint). It fits the game perfectly, of course. But overall, I find the game fairly tedious.
I think I liked RE5 a lot more just because of the coop aspect. Even boring games can be quite fun when playing with a friend.
artwalknoon said:For me the game never got boring because it was so much fun to shoot enemies in different places. One of the first, if not the first game to have specific body shot damage I think. It also had some great action set pieces/boss fights.
artwalknoon said:Did you play RE 4 when it first came out or some time after like once hd games were already around?
TheExodu5 said:Yeah I couldn't get through that game.
In Bowser's Inside Story, even if you're bored at a certain point, at least you know you have some awesome Fawful dialog to look forward to.![]()
Yuripaw said:I went back to play Persona 3 though, and I actually did play it to completion, but I never once felt satisfied or engrossed in the story at all. The characters aren't nearly as likeable, the story doesn't make as much sense to me, and the combat pissed me off because you couldn't control your party. I just didn't enjoy playing the game at all. It truly was an endurance test, because I felt like there had to be something that would appeal to me since I loved Persona 4 so much. Even the ending disappointed me.

It's the most uneventful, boring, unmemorable, bland, dead silent, generic, poorly paced RPG I have ever played. I find myself racking my memory for bits and pieces of this game, only to find very little if anything left. That's a hallmark of a bad game.. You just forget it.
