Rockstar redeemed themselves with Red Dead Redemption and L.A. Noire, cause GTA IV is easily one of the worst games I have played.
Short answer: Yes.CecilRousso said:Hm. I´ve been thinking about getting Red Dead Redemption. If I thought GTAIV had a mediocre story, annoying missions without any real variety and a game world where there weren´t enough worthwile things to do besides the story missions, will I like Red Dead Redamption any better?

RDR was my goty. GTAIV has been one my most regrettable purchases this gen. Its unfortunate LA NOIRE seems to have more in common with the latter.CecilRousso said:Hm. You're right on the money. They should have just built it around the boss battles, leave the filler traveling stuff to minimum and leave the story like it is.Snuggler said:shadow of the colossus
it's a massive, empty slab of land and you just ride your horse from place to place, trying to make it to your destination before you get nauseous and vomit from the busted frame rate
the boss fights were fun for the most part but everything in between was a chore, but I guess I was supposed to feel something

My issue with that game is the one I tend to go through many games. I get to a point half way or near the end and sort of put it down for a few days. RDR was like that in that I really enjoyed it but maybe the setting or me getting a little tired of playing that excessively prevented me from finishing it. I finally did after seeing too many spoiler and wondering what they were about. It was no big deal and I really enjoyed the post game of RDR. GTAIV, never beat it but got halfway. Re-bought it for dirt cheap on PC and go back just for MP. Is a really fun game still, especially with mods on PC.RyuHayate said:Call me crazy, but Red Dead Redemption.
I hate them with a passion so much. Walk from point A to point B then back to point A make up the bulk of these games. I actually loved Fallout 3 more because there was something about the environment that seemed fresh. But I couldn't finish GTA IV, refused to play Burnout Paradise's campaign, thought Red Faction was the worst offender of having me ping pong between large distances, and think free-roaming from level to level in Sonic Adventure is just a terrible timesink.S. Burnout paradise, gta, fallout, etc
yaawn
Based on what you said that's actually surprising. WW might be the most boring of all the console Zelda games.Kinyou said:Almost all the Zelda games. I usually like playing through the first 3 dungeons but after that it just seems to offer nothing new and most of the times the story isn't really there to keep you going. As a matter of fact, the only Zelda game I've ever finished was The Wind Waker
Oh man, so true.evilromero said:Based on what you said that's actually surprising. WW might be the most boring of all the console Zelda games.

What an awful boring repetitive game, everything you do don't even matter, go search for clues or no, the cases solve itself automatically, on rail chase scenes, uninteresting characters and story, soulless and dull city with nothing at all to do.
Aftet the Getaway and this, I will not buy any other game from McNamara.

The best levels are clustered toward the end. If you don't like New Alexandria or Exodus, you shouldn't bother finishing the game.JAVK said:Halo Reach. I cannot get myself to finish the campaign.
What's so great about the Grand Canyon anyway? It's just a hole in the ground. Niagara Falls? Lol, who left the tap on?Snuggler said:shadow of the colossus

All three of those games were made by different teams. Rockstar North has yet to release anything since GTA4.The Experiment said:GTA IV: In no way, shape or form does this game have anything decent about it. Surprisingly, I think you summed up a lot of my own sentiments about the two games. I can't say that they're bad games, but ODST all out bored me. I agree with your feelings about the ranking mode in Reach, but my list of issues would continue on for a couple more pages lol.DMeisterJ said:Halo: ODST and Halo: Reach - In the case of ODST, the subject matter was boring. Characters I didn't like or care for made the game hard to finish (I didn't). With Halo: Reach, I did finish the game, to close out the story, but my god, what a boring story I could only muster the tiniest bit of care for. But the most egregious error of the game that has such a sterile online mode. Tons of different modes top play which all bore. I think that's mostly attributed to the fact that they took the ranking mode out of all the playlists, and put it into one playlist and made it one of the most needlessly complicated things on this earth.

I was bored to fucking death with this game and I have tried 3 times to complete it and never can, it just runs on, and on, and on, the characters have no life, the story is well, none existent, it was a graphical giant in 2004, got it for free so I don't feel like I wasted money...

Good. I know they were made by different teams, and I'm glad Rockstar North didn't fuckover the other teams.Madman said:All three of those games were made by different teams. Rockstar North has yet to release anything since GTA4.
