With two versions of PS5 announced, one with Blu ray 4K and another all-digital versión, which option will you choose?

Releasing a digital only version off the bat is an interesting move, but I still get nearly everything physical and that won't be changing any time soon.

Digital. I have a proper 4K BD player, and the disc version is fugly.

Physical media for games has become a hindrance these days with patches and DLC, so I'm fine letting it go.

Depends on the price difference. I go digital myself but my buddies I play with usually don't so I borrow a game now and then. To give that up has to make sense monetarily.

sounds to me like that the PS5 will be very expensive otherwise they wouldn't feel the need to launch with two SKUs.
Maybe $599 with drive and $499 for digital only edition.

Probably a stupid question, but will the drive definitely play 4k bluerays?

In any event, disk for sure. I may try to go more digital next gen than I ever have, but I still want the OPTION for disks. Sometimes there are just amazing sales on physical media.

Really depends on how much the digital version is and what Sony's solution is for the pissy 850gb drive is and external storage
They really didn't do a great job of explaining it

Disc. Not for games but UHD movies and Blu Ray's which I still use.

Strange decision tho, retailers will be fuming and how much would a move surely save? Not much I'd have thought.

Digital.
I'm too lazy for physical games and I only buy games on psn sales anyway (with very few exceptions).

Digital, been buying my games strictly digital for a couple of years now so I can share em with my son.

I don't see myself buying disc-version ever again.

I believe it was confirmed way back in the Wired article that yes, PS5 will play 4K blu-rays.

Discs. I buy 4k movies so I want the player. That being said, i also like selling my games and dont like keeping a library of games I will never play again.

Considering physical games are completely pointless since it just rips it to the hard drive, I hate to say it but ...digital. This is truly the end of physical media. I'd assume the digital version will be cheaper, most people will go for that version and that will be the final nail.

I'm a big Blu-ray/UHD collector and already have a good 4K player. I was hoping PS5 having the player would expand the market a bit and it might but I think the digital version will outsell it on price alone.

It's a shame to see but it was inevitable.

I'll go with disc version because sometimes games are way cheaper on disc here in Brazil

For example, TLOU2 is 40 dollars on disc right now

Digital. Been discless throughout the PS4 lifespan. I don't even own a laptop anymore, no longer have use cases where a disc drive is necessary.

I could go all digital if it weren't for the fact that physical games are often cheaper. Although I have been buying more and more digital ps4 lately, so will have to think about it.

All digital.
it may be an ugly console but I'll take slim and ugly, plus I can't remember the last time I bought a physical game or movie.

All digital. Physical media is archaic and needs to die.

Enjoy paying more I guess LOL

Debatable, I'm going mostly digital next gen but it'll depend on game cost. I fully believe we'll be seeing 69.99 being the regular and if that's the case, with a cheaper console should come cheaper delivery methods. If they want people to adapt to digital, make it worthwhile.

The one with the bigger ssd. But probably disc just for the possibility to buy demon's souls again like i did 10 years ago. And play the few games i plan to buy on retail in the next few years because some games will continue to make deals with retailers.

All digital sounds dumb.

I prefer the old classic and refined way. Be the one to choose which I want.
