I heard there was a KKK rally in my town last week in front of the local NAACP building. They were trying to raise money because they're broke.

It's not that simple, they don't hate for a reason, they hate...and then look for reasons, real or made up to justify being afraid.
They hate for the same reason a child claims to hate a food. They know nothing about it, but they hate it anyways because they lack the courage to try it. They hate it because immature people need something to throw a fit over. They are terrified of what might be lurking out there in life, so they hide together in a ditch and blindly toss grenades at any shadow that makes them uneasy. They imagine themselves having been backed into a corner by life and don't realize they backed themselves into it and nobody is keeping them there.
