Who Are The Most Intelligent Characters?

I nominate Guybrush Threepwood

- is extremely resourceful, able to store infinite objects in his pants including a wooden log, a sword, a telescope and a cannon ball.

- a great improviser, able to defeat his arch-nemesis (several times) by combining junk to make a voodoo doll in the warehouses of a theme park.

- is charismatic, he is able to flatter his way through a tough governess even after putting her dogs to sleep and being an intruder.

- has proven to be a veteran of using predestination paradoxes in order to help him escape being lost. In Lucre Island he uses a simple note to help him travel through time, interacting with his future self and exchanging items including directions, a key, a rubber ducky and a robe, in order to help navigate through a misty march. Later he finishes the loop with his past self.

- is able to deceive the game itself into thinking he’s dead and initiating a fake ending.

- has incredible wit, able to disarm pirates by depending on comeback taunts.

- is able to use the word ‘orange’ to get some pirates to work.

- has escaped from being imprisoned on numerous occasions.

- finds unorthodox ways to pass challenges, including shooting an opponent’s banjo, wearing a dunce hat to create a bigger splash in a diving contest, distracting a judge as well as moving a marker to win a spitting contest.

- is very capable of using a giant monkey robot.

What smart characters can you think of?

Gordon Freeman is an MIT grad.

Invoker knows 10 spells and that is supposed to be impressive for some reason.

(Yuko Takao, SMT Nocturne)

A teacher, and also the Maiden of the Vortex World.

I'd love to say Katherine, but she's just a fashion designer.

At least compared to anyone else in KH. All the other characters will scratch their head over what the hell's going on, and Goofy will just blatantly point it out.

Can we mention Gods/AIs?

My PC in the Elder Scrolls games typically becomes the Arch Mage of the Mages Guild in a couple of months with no previous training in Magic. That has to count for something since other dudes work away for decades to get there :P

If you suspend the living shit out of your disbelief and follow all of the main series Metal Gear Solid titles, the answer is Revolver Ocelot.

Mike Thorton from Alpha Protocol.

Wat.
He's certainly good at choosing 3 different responses to every situation, but I would rarely if ever qualify them as intelligent.

I would say Professor Elvin Gadd:

Dude invented the Hydrogush 4000, Poltergust 3000+3001+4000 (Kart)+5000, Gameboy Horror, F.L.U.D.D., Baby Bowsers magic (science-y?) paintbrush from Sunshine, a time machine, Stuffwell (a suitcase with artificial intelligence), Gaddlight, and the DS Time Radar.

He also owns Starbeans Cafe.

Intelligent AND he knows how to use it!

The answer is obviously Doctor Lautrec. He's a genius and will let everyone know how inferior to him they really are.

Gordon Freeman is an MIT grad.

Invoker knows 10 spells and that is supposed to be impressive for some reason.

For an MIT grad, why does he whack everyone with crowbars and jump on people's heads when they are talking to him?

I say Balthier.

I say Balthier.
If he was so intelligent, why didn't he just punch Vaan in the face and become the main role of the game!
