for some reasons,i guess overheating included, the 360 will suddenly not be able to turn on, and the green ring of light on the front of the console will be 3 parts red, some you can recover (mine) others not so and have to be sent back(EGM92), mine happened during ripping a music cd, but others have crashed and red-ringed for no reason on start up, or even out of the box, or going to the dashboard.

I sent mine in i had the 299 model and one controller got it back like 3 days later with a HD and a wireless controller . i couldnt be happier

yup, that happened to me. followed the emergency recovery steps but alas, it was all too late. but it seems like microsoft's on top of their game in terms of the return policy and services so i'm sure i'll be ok. just no geo wars for the time being
