How is it that Sony doesn't allow you to change it?

It's a database, right? What database doesn't allow you to alter its values?!

Mine is too long, I'd change it with something shorter or more memorable. It is also not in English, on a platform where everybody talks in English. Nobody is able to memorize it.

Though I guess it would be very difficult to find an avaiable proper name. For some reason I suck at finding good names.

I believe you can change your PSN screen name on a Japanese account. It's bizarre that the functionality has yet to be expanded to other regions... in fact, its bizarre that such functionality is region-specific at all.

I had no idea the Japanese accounts could do that, which really does make it completely bizarre. Everyone should just tweet this thread to yosp asking for the functionality to be added to other regions. Make enough noise and they'll have to listen.

I honestly don't mind paying $5 to change my psn, if they choose to go that route.

It was late 2008 when I got my PS3, which would have made me 26. My normal online name Triggerhappytel was taken, so I reverted to my backup name Telminator, which was also taken. Bastards! I don't generally like names with numbers in, but Telminator-2 was available so I went with that, and I don't mind the numeral as it's kind of a spin on one of my favourite films.

I'd definitely like the option to change it though. Would pay a few pounds for the privilege.

But now I get random friend invites from people asking for it or saying they are a panthers fan... It can be annoying and I would like to change my name but I am sure its taken by now.
