The "alpha" and "beta" mentality is extremely overdone on bodybuilding forums.
Essentially you have a bunch of roid-raging dudes who are total assholes and homophobes because they're secretly gay and want to BEEFCAKE it out of themselves...

Seriously though, the comment section on sites like PornHub are generally just "serious" discourse about the quality of the video and the sexual acts taking place. More often than not that's what I've seen.

Essentially. If you exclude the racist comments that do appear (which also is significantly less then on youtube) it is surprisingly civil. Creepy but civil. The porn hub comments as posted are interesting examples. Especially that math one which isn't isolation. Though you still have plenty of the crap as posted that makes you go "nope" and causes you to simply be done with the internet for the rest of the day. However yeah youtube comment sections are still the worse.

I've visited a few porn message boards in my day and it floored me how, uh, porny everyone was. It wasn't just a normal message board where people were sex positive and discussed sex in a healthy way, everyone seemed to talk the way porn stars did while performing. Porn terminology (the negative kind, focusing on sexualization, fetishization, etc) was part of regular conversation in a weird way. Then again, I'm not sure what else I was expecting.

I think Youtube gets a bad rap. They can be really good if you're on the right videos. Sometimes the youtube comments nail it.

Youtube is a mish mash of of everything. Some channels elude the stupidity and that's cool cause then there is a chance to sometimes have some useful comments and good vibes. Usually the channel can't be too big or it has to fill a niche that doesn't attract shitposters. But all the negativity is easy for me to gloss over. the whole point of the person is to get a rise out of you. That's all. So they go right for the jugular when it comes to the comment. Whatever. I know the game and I'm not going to freak out.
Porn sites. The only time I look at the comments is if I need a name. Once again. There can be all kinds of dumb shit, but I'm on a mission so I ignore the debris and look for the gold. Easy.
