Who has the worst wrestling finisher

The thing about The People's Elbow is that the build up to it and the execution was always so strong that I didn't even mind that it was just an elbow drop. The moment it started, it just felt like the hypest thing ever.

The worst ones are the ones that are regular moves for another wrestler..

Like the leg drop
Or choke slam
Or reverse piledriver
Or power bomb
Elbow drop from the turn buckle

No non-love for the reverse STO?

They always give wrasslers that shit.

Here's R-Truth giving himself a Rock Bottom for the win.

Anybody that uses the Destroyer piledriver, or as I like to call it, the Nonsense Flip.

You want to know what the only thing that the Destroyer destroys is? The audience's suspension of disbelief.

The 619 may have been covered but I'm of the mindeset that it got worse when Mysterio's knees went to jelly meaning he couldn't even finish off with the west coast pop or seated senton.
Thus the final and most miserable form of the 619 was born, Mysterio hops on the ropes post kick (which now conks the opponent out on the canvas) so he can collapse off the rope gut first for the worlds most feeble looking splash performed by a cruiserweight to boot.

Like god damn, it makes the actual 619 part of the finish seem incredible by comparison, I've watched guys as big as Kane and Show job to rey falling off the ropes and gently rolling across their bellies.

I always thought Mr. Socko was fucking lame.

Mandible Claw is a pretty legit submission move, and you can't really tell whether or not he's actually applying any pressure just by watching the match, so it's also effective from the audience's point of view. It's why I always loved well applied submission finishers (that delicious Sharpshooter!). Mr. Socko was just something added on after Mankind turned comedy babyface.

Something like the People's Elbow looks nice, and has a bit of a dance to it thanks to the Rock's showmanship, but when he snaps it down so quick with zero force it just kills the illusion (although you could argue the Rock Bottom was his real finisher).

Rock only finished mid-carder's with the elbow. Rock Bottom was the real finisher.

Nah he started leaning on it towards the end of his first run before the short hiatus.

Don't think he ever beat Austin with anything but the Rock Bottom or his shitty version of a stunner.

Have you played the N64 Aki wrestling games? Roman's yell is the taunt that lets you know his spirit is maxed.

I see it more like Roman's ROAAAAAAAAAAAR puts the fear of God into his opponent and his SPEEEEEEEEEEEEEED means even if he misses he hits the air with such FERRRRRRRRRRRROCITY that the wind resistance will knock his opponent out.

...

BECAUSE HE''SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS SO STRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRONG.

OOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARTGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Nope. We all agree, Razor's Edge is fantastic.

That, and the Awesome bomb variation.

Kane's chokeslam used to look ridiculously brutal.

Sweet Chin music and Tajiri's kicks were always sold so well that it actually seemed like someone was getting kicked in the face.

Any version of the ddt should be a finisher, as you're driving someone's head or face directly into the mat.

3D is obviously the best tag finisher.

Spinaroonie

Nah I liked Booker, dude had charisma. He's reined back on the book end probably because of the rock bottom.

He's cool, but whenever he did it it seemed off at times. Better than most, I'll give you that.

King Booker however can go off with his head.

I hated Umaga's Samoan Spike.

Warrior Splash and that flying forearm Tito Santana used to do are up there as well.

I dunno, someone jamming their thumb into your jugular sounds like it could at least conceivably hurt. It just looked kinda meh most times Umaga did it.

Warrior's splash was dumb, but it was the 80s/90s, so whatever. It was usually done after a gorilla press slam, so there's that.

Gotta disagree that with the dude throwing shade at JBL's Clothesline from Hell though. JBL will be the first to tell you that he stole a lot from Stan Hansen, but he's no slouch either. The beauty of it was that it was just a regular move that JBL made absolutely lethal, especially when he threw it at good sellers like Billy Gunn here and Heath Slater.

Fair point about how it could potentially hurt. It was more the way Umaga performed it.

I forgot about the gorilla slam before the splash, but my memory of his finisher was tarnished by his weak-ass splash at WM against Hogan.

Honestly, I buy the STO more than I do the Rock Bottom.

The idea is you're landing face first. Nobody is ever hurt by landing evenly on their back on a mat.

Get the wind knocked out of you, hurt your back so its harder to kickout, and the potential whiplash of the persons head hitting the ring mat (if we're going to apply real-life logic to fake wrestling). Compare that to an STO, where it's literally only your face hitting the ground, and not even with full force since the other person's arm is there to take some of the impact.

Plus the Rock Bottom simply looks like it has more impact behind it.

Rock Bottom is a Chokeslam with added momentum. That's the way I see it.

"The other person's arm there to take the impact" - yeah, that's pro wrestling. Not actually hurting the dude is kind of the point.

Backdropping on a mat is something wrestlers do a hundred times a match. The Rock Bottom is inherently no more forceful than most slams, and probably significantly less so than a powerslam or a powerbomb. I can at least buy that landing head first knocks the dude out.

I was applying real-world logic to a fake wrestling move. If you're going to knock a guy out with a head-first move an STO is the last thing you're going to do.

Clothesline from Hell was OK but Farooq's Dominator is a great finisher

Yeah that new finisher she does looks terrible (I think its called the sliced bread? lol what a weird name). Even something as simple as a ddt looks terrible when she does it.

It's called Sliced Bread # 2 (as in the best thing since sliced bread) and she got it from the person who has been training her recently, Brian Kendrick.

Like you said though, she makes every move look awful, no matter how cool it usually is.

Jake's DDT was one of the most blue-balls finisher ever. I understand that it's dangerous but it was amazing how much teasing of the move was done compared to how many times it was executed.
