Giving him a real voice as one of Nintendo's biggest mistakes. Whoever decided to put the classic SMW "dinosaur noise" in Galaxy 2 and NSMBWii deserves a promotion.
Everything you said is part of his charm. He's this weird, sort of pathetic, swept under the rug, angry, uncomfortable, crotch chopping guy that's just sort of there sometimes.
It's hilarious.

Waluigi being so much of a loser that he makes Luigi look like a winner is part of what I think most Waluigi fans like about Waluigi.
At least, that's part of why I like Waluigi. He's so lame to the point that he wraps around the continuum to being awesome.

My favourite is Yoshi, I use him in all the spin offs (even Smash Bros.).
Rosalina is another good one, she's like the star godess and her backstory in Galaxy is nice.
Waluigi has the best fan interpretation because the in-game character is meh.
The M&L RPG's portray an awesome Luigi and also create great dialogue for the old Toad (forgot his name...). I loved how both of them interacted with the babies in Parterns in Time.

Tomboyish, brash, strong, and compassionate about what she likes, Daisy feels way more like a real person than her counter part. Plus, one of the few thin (fictional) women I find attractive.

The Ghost Dog from Luigi's Mansion 2 is quickly becoming a fav of mine. Seriously, every time he appears on screen I have a massive smile on my face.

the M&L series incarnation of Mario and Luigi. They're two separate characters that you control as one while they spout hilarious gibberish and beat the shit out of each other during intricate special moves. Nobody in M&L knows or cares who the fuck Luigi is, and that's funny. I always hear people praising games like Thousand Year Door for their incredibly long winded dialogue where M&L can illicit harder laughs with a sentence or two, a goofball artstyle, and a couple of weird soundbytes. Even their gba-limited sprite animations are individually packed with more personality and character than entire games. I used to think Nintendo couldn't ever top Superstar Saga but Dream Team looks like it's gonna be siiiick
Psycho Waluigi needs to be recognized by Nintendo. They should put it on the e-shop or something, it's rad.

Luigi by far. One of the few characters that has actually gotten significant character development in a mario game.
Seeing him sit on that couch with the politer pup, after being afraid of ghosts for so long, was a tear jerker.

Maybe people like him because he hasn't been whored out to DEATH. This thread is just proof that people want something different out of Nintendo. Even if different is just a rip off of the anti Mario in Luigi form. Mario is the least mentioned in this thread.
i think waluigi's theme would be around screwing people over
-an evil Mario Party where it gets a lot more personal. tablet controller is perfect for this because you can pass it around the room and use it to plot against people
-another board game that involves stealing from people or manipulating them
-i think a whacky fps game would make sense
-paper Waluigi where you go around mushroom kingdom and give everyone - toads and shyguys alike - the shakedown

It's gotta be Luigi. His stories and oddball companions in Thousand Year Door are still my favorite bits of story and characterization in any Mario game. He's great in the Mario & Luigi series, too. He basically lets Nintendo have a Mario-like character that doesn't have to be brave and, uh, competent in all situations. Small wonder he's a much better character than Mario himself.

Yoshi is such a likeable character, he is really cute but somehow manages to be awesome at the same time, and overall he really made a great hero in yoshi island, like you really felt identified with him when he was trying to protect baby mario and return him to his brother even though nobody forced him to do it
And the goombas, I don't know, they are characters who know that are screwed yet they always seems to be very loyal to the koopa cause
