Who is the biggest sellout?

Ice Cube is filthy rich and in his 40s...would you rather he still pretend to be an angry, angsty teenager who hates the world like Green Day? He has kids and shit. People evolve and change as they get older.

I really don't think athletes can be considered sell outs. At no points in their careers did they have what could be considered credibility in the same sense artists do. Endorsements are basically trophies to them. No hate for that.

I hate the direction he went with Star Wars but I don't think Lucas is a sell out. He constantly did things he wanted and pissed off fans. Unfortunately the things he wanted aren't the things I wanted.

I don't mind Ice Cube or Metallica 'selling out'. You grow old, raise a family, do family-oriented shit. Can't be gangsta at 43, that's stupid.

Devo, when they created Devo 2.0

no. Or rather, fuck everything, and why the hell not sell out? The hardcore creativity and target audience of counter-culture young adults is all over with. Why the hell not cash in? It isn't like anyone is holding themselves up to the save imaginary standards.

I don't blame Ice cube and I don't consider that selling out. He has a family now. That other stuff was when we was younger. Gotta grow up sometime.

Pawn stars turned into a subway ad

Shark tank was my favorite reality show, it's now a giant tmobile ad.

I'd go with MLB teams. Everything is sponsored. "That ground ball is brought to you by ____". Then again it could have always been like that

A real example of selling out would be Lorena Garcia doing Taco Bell commercials. Literally exchanging credibility for money.

I like how people got angry that Metallica stopped making speed metal because they literally stopped liking speed metal and then everyone called them sell-outs. What's selling out is them making a new speed metal album even though they clearly don't like speed metal (just look at the stuff they listen to when they talk about it. None of it is speed metal).

Yeah but the reason he did those things was because he knew they could make his films more marketable and thus make more money. Ewoks are the easiest example of this from the OT. They were there specifically to market the film to children and to make action figures.

When he was shopping around A New Hope wasn't one of his sticking points that wanted to keep merchandizing rights? Pretty sure selling toys and shit were a top priority for Lucas from the start.
