If you're like me and love scientific research, this is a great resource for the subject of this thread: Shirtless Superheroes. No dicks AFAIK (aside from Dick Grayson), but I can't vouch for the image links on the left so be careful.

Gambit was my man growing up, and I still think he's hot, but I think my overall favorite would have to be Captain America/Steve Rogers. He's the classic pin-up beefcake. I also really like Thor, Black Bolt, Black Panther, Namor, Cyclops, Colossus, Hercules & Doctor Strange. (There are lots of others too, but I'll control myself.)
As for DC, Superman/Clark Kent is my favorite, followed by Booster Gold, The Green Arrow, Hawkman and Aquaman.
(Unless you just say that because they have kids, in which case, I totally agree.)

That's really interesting. And brave. I think most writers wouldn't know how to handle dealing with those kinds of difficult, dark plots well.
I have to say I am surprised. I had assumed, wrongly, that most superhero writers would shy away from these paths.
Wiseblade, yeah, true on Peter Parker's story being so infused with relationship trouble. Sometimes I think he will never really find a good romantic ending. Ever :x
Dick probably wins on that front, his romances tend to end amicably.

I don't think they have retconned that. I was surprised that they keep it in Son of Batman. Hell, they even had an scene where Batman says to Talia that she drugged him, but Talia says something like "But it was sexy, right?" and then it's never brought up again.

uhah, i had not realised how fantastic this guy is :x to be honest, i have only read one or two of his comics and i think at the time, i was misled on his concepts that he didn't really impress me.

Theres no up to interpretation on dicks situation. He was raped. The writer handwaving it didnt make it better.

Oh, I totally agree. I thought that was pretty shitty of the writer to try and spin it that way, and if you look at the lower right hand side of the Tim Drake screenshot, you'll see that female rape on guys still seems to be somewhat viewed as a high-five (I'm not sure how else to take "What a way to go!").

I guess it's good we don't like exactly the same guys, because if we happen to find ourselves in a post-apocalyptic wasteland where hunks in shabby attire roam the terrain for reasons, I don't want things to get tense between us. That could definitely maybe happen so I'm glad we worked this out ahead of time.
