These guests spots really bring things down to a crashing halt.

I wouldn't go that far. It's still very enjoyable. It's just extremely obvious how product pushing they are with all the guest stars.

I guess if that's the price to pay for the show's revival, so be it.

To me it just replaces the audience helping out, although its annoying to have them announced multiple times. Actually the one thing that seems to be missing is that there is a general lack of banter between the players/host because it cuts to commercials after each game.

They need to bring back irish drinking song :(

Yeah, it is annoying that they introduce and then send them off twice during the show. There's probably a solid minute or two for more footage there. I'd say they don't really add to the show, but don't really hurt it. I think it'd be better off without them though. I like the sideways set, it's pretty damn clever. More scenes from a hat would be nice.

This as well.

I'd agree up until the synchronized swimmers. The living scenery skit was hilarious.

My biggest problem is the helping hands skit with the guest. The chick from some housewives show was absolutely horrible in it.

I don't like the new show at all. Aisha Tyler has no personality at all and I'm tired of her over-explaining everything, all the time. The guests are awful and don't fit in at all

I don't really understand the hate for the celebrity guests. Yes, it's to help the ratings, but they have exactly the same chance of being good or bad at it as a random audience member. Plenty of audience members have been horrible at the games, like the older women who made the same sound for everything. It's up to the comedians to make the guest's contribution good or bad. The lady from house wives was crap and they did absolutely nothing with it. Ryan made only the most feeble attempts to make use of her in helping hands. This falls entirely on the the comedian's head. They've had years of experience in making use of good and bad contributions, while each and every guest, whether a celebrity or someone pulled from the audience is essentially being put on the spot for the first time.

During one of the eps, I really am confused as to how Aisha Tyler had no idea what GTA was but she's been involved with Ubisoft and their upcoming game, Watch_Dogs. Very odd.

The episodes with the audience were funny BECAUSE they had no idea what to do in front of the camera. It was awkward for them, and awkward for the actors to react to what was happening. The special guests were always shit* because they thought they were funny and clever. Their egos got in the way of the scene. But because they aren't improv actors they just said something stupid and people laugh because *insert popular person's name* was doing it.

*there are very few exceptions to this comment.

Glad to hear about the renewal. Hopefully they bring in more awesome people for the fourth chair.

During one of the eps, I really am confused as to how Aisha Tyler had no idea what GTA was but she's been involved with Ubisoft and their upcoming game, Watch_Dogs. Very odd.

She said she hadn't played it, so she didn't know how to properly react to a part of Wayne's simulation; not that she had no idea what GTA was.

The suits probably think the celebrity guests will drive ratings and that younger people need to be reminded about how the game works. Constantly.

She was aware of the game, right? Just said she'd never played it, wasn't that the case?
Probably, might have to to rewatch it later.

Like RepairmanJack mentioned she's a gamer. I expected her to at least know what and how GTA plays like. I suppose she could be just acting dumb to entertain the audience and such but come on, show your gamer side. Ah well.

I'm not completely sure that Wayne knew much about GTA either, but he played up the fact that he was a stiff videogame character who bought whores and killed people b/c that's what everyone who doesn't play games knows about GTA. I think Aisha just got nervous in the moment because she didn't know how to get involved with Wayne while he was over at her desk. No one was looking for exact quotes from the game or anything. I'm sure Colin or Ryan haven't played it and they would have known how to get involved with Wayne in the moment.

I'm pretty sure I've said this a few times, but I'm watching the new episodes, and I'm so glad this show is back on the air and doing well. I haven't laughed so hard in a long, long time.

I have a whole new appreciation for Synchronized Swimming.

Aisha said she hadn't played GTA (not that she hadn't heard of it) so she doesn't know what a female character from the game would say. Heck, I played GTA3 and GTA4 for a bit (got put off from the gameplay so stopped) and even I don't know how female characters are represented in the game (aside from hearing about hookers and strip clubs).

Funnily enough that's probably my favorite audience moment because of that same reason.

Did Wayne just do the Hot Coffee cheat? :lol

Edit: hey they went one episode without doing the "lets mount the sexy female guest" joke. But then they did it again the very next episode.

I actually appreciated that Ryan and Colin didn't jump on the synchronized swimmers. It's always a little creepy when it happens, and it would have been especially creepy with them.

And honestly, I think it was funnier that way.

Are they running out of ideas for the side-view game already? I swear it's the same stuff every time they use it. :lol

So far, its been hit or miss for me. I think I would like another host and no celebrity guests at all.

I'm glad this show is back on and it definitely keeps me entertained. I do miss drew Carey and the audience participation though.

I think the problem was too similar of suggestions in "Horror film" and "Poltergeist". Then Wayne doing the spider thing was too similar to him crawling all over the stage both times made it seem that way. Maybe just mix up the cast that does it a little more, throw in Ryan instead of Wayne or something.

Or just stick to one skit. The last episode I thought they went by too fast to really give a chance for the skits to mature.

Changing the scenery might help, too. A door, chair and a table. Getting boring.

Agree that introducing the guests multiple times is unnecessary. Once they're done with the first skit, just keep them off to the side and bring them back without a fancy intro?

And I just can't get used to Aisha Tyler. She seems out of place as the host. But 70% comes from her annoying dragged out sentences. ("We'll be right back after thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis.")

Other than that, the show has been funny. Loved Gary Williams and Keegan as guests.

The fifth episode was hilarious. That Jeff Davis guy was fantastic and the olympic swimmers worked really well as props. Definitely the best and most cohesive episode yet as everything overall just worked.

I also agree that they've done the sideways bit too many times already. It is still funny, but with the show being renewed for 24 more episodes, I'd hate to think they run the idea into the ground before the new seasons can even start.

Film Noir and Swedish Dub need to make comebacks. They were some of my favorite skits.

EDIT: And the Mission Impossible skits with Ryan and Colin.

I'd prefer they stop doing it all together. I know they repeat jokes. Colin has had his car not start and rode an invisible bike up a hill during sound FX multiple times for example, But I can do without that specific joke every single episode.

How many episodes are out there ?

I only saw 3 and it is HARD to find others =(
Most of those "see online for free" are region locked =/

Didn't saw the olympic dudes and the Jeff davis one ....

No, it really isn't. There's only so much you can do while being restricted to the sideview of the floor. I mean look at Jeff (a brand new performer for the last game), even he did the backflip and land on the chair bit.

I've seen about 15 different instances of the game so far (with plenty of different suggestions), and honestly it's one of my least favorite games because it is pretty much the same thing everytime , the game loses its charm fast. Games that rely heavily on a physical aspect are typically like this. Imagine helping hands in every episode, you'll get tired pretty fast, even the 2 times they've showed it in the past 5 episodes is too frequent imo.

But yeah for some strange reason, they feel like including sideways scene in nearly every episode, possibly due to the positive reactions it gets at the tapings, which may very well involve a mostly new crowd every time. The game has a very good first impression.

Living scenery still fares a little better than helping hands, and sideways scene in terms of freshness, but even then the same jokes are recycled (sled, sleeping bag etc). I supposed it fares better because there are less restrictions/gimmicks imposed upon the performers. They are more free to do what they want, and that's where improv really shines.

I suppose the best physical game, that I don't think ever felt overplayed/as repetitive was Action Replay. Sure the second set of performers are restricted by what the first performers did. But the first performers are completely free to pretty much do whatever they want which makes the game fresh nearly every time. There will be repeated jokes here and there (like Wayne doing something extremely physical so Colin would have to recreate it) but even those were still done differently enough.

Forwards Rewind is another one that has less chances of feeling stale or old, due to the performers being given freedom to do what they want.

Man, I've analyzed Whose Line far too much. That's what happens when you've watched all the eps of the original show dozens of times over.

That's all. The Olympic girls with Jeff and the other episode were last night and should be up on the website now. You haven't missed any.

The human props part was amazing if for how awkward it was with Colin and Ryan having no idea how to interact with half-naked props. Oh my god. "Thank god it's self-motivated!"

I did notice that she used the Poltergeist thing in the sideways scene again. It was hilarious the first time but eh, the second was meh. (Was it Poltergeist the first time? Wait, it was Exorcist which ended up being the same thing.) But the scene was great. Thank goodness she didn't use it in the third. Though Kung-Fu and Crouching Tiger were similar too. Whatever.

There's a lot of game types missing.

On another note, I watched Colin and Brad tonight. Oh my god, the last two games, especially the second to last with the letter replacement part had me laughing so hard I couldn't breathe.
