Why are you buying an XB1?

Exclusives. Granted I don't play a great deal of them, but the Xbox One titles interest me more.

Friends. Everybody who I care to play with is getting an Xbox One.

Additional features, it's almost a silly thing for me to even buy this thing at launch because I play so few games now. The additional features however do look compelling. At least they will if they work as advertised. I actually think Kinect can be useful, even if it is just outside of games. If they can make it useful in games too, brilliant.

General stuff like a preference for the OS style and physical design. Both machines look brilliant in my opinion, though this is really the least of my worries.

Invested somewhat in the MS ecosystem, if you will. WP8 and W8 user, so the various degrees of crossover are kind of nice. Although honestly, if I did think the Xbox One was a real stinker, this wouldn't even be a consideration, it's just a useful addition.

I would say controller, which in the previous generation would probably make sense. But honestly, the DS4 looks nice now. So it probably makes little difference as to which you game on.

I plan to pick up a PS4, hopefully by mid next year. Has some super looking titles coming up. In the here and now though, Xbox One edged it for the reasons above.

Also, as a side, I personally was never bothered by the policies which so many found unpalatable. So the woes attached with the brand were never a thing for me.

Quantum Break. That's honestly about it. I'll get multiplatform games for the PS4, but Quantum Break legitimately piqued my interest. And TitanFall, I guess. Killer Instinct looks pretty Badass, as well.

No offense. I don't usually do this, but your post sounds like a PR statement. That last part, especially, is just straight up laughable. But to each their own as they say.

It is a pr statement, on behalf of me 😉 I guess I'm just excited about somebody actually trying to do something new instead of the same old. I was pretty excited for the Wii u back when it was announced but it has failed at executing a good strategy for using the new controller in high profile exclusives.

I genuinely don't know what the fuss is about the ps4. It is not exactly a technical wonder, it is quite mediocre just like the Xbox one. It's games are good rather than exceptional with the obvious exception of the crown jewel naughty dog.

Few games ever comes close to being exceptional, but MS has lined two up at launch (killer instinct and forza 5), Sony doesn't have any in the foreseeable future (maybe "The order"?)

I like Microsoft's exclusives, their online integration, the controller layout, and Forza features my daily car. I'm also very very curious about their media integration.

Xbox is just going to be the console I buy first.

I've been a Playstation guy through and through, never owned an Xbox. I always wanted to get into the Xbox ecosystem but didn't get the chance to for various reasons. Going into next-gen, I wanted something fresh and exciting, something initially different than the Playstation ecosystem I'm used to. Even though I'm eventually getting both (Infamous will force my hand, I love that franchise! <3), I'm leaning towards an Xbox One for launch. I think it has a solid line-up on launch, one that's better suited to me than the PS4. I really want Forza 5, and having that game at launch is pretty much enough for me to tilt the tides. DriveClub being dropped off the PS4 made the decision easier as I was debating between it and Forza. Contrary to most people, I'm excited by the Kinect functionality, especially the use of voice commands. I'm very interested in the media-hub vision that Microsoft is pushing behind the system, and having an all-in one entertainment box seems like a really great sell to me.

That being said, nothing is set in stone and depending on how the next 2 weeks of coverage pan out, I can still change my mind. I got both systems on launch day pre-orders at the moment, and I have to cancel one of them soon. The current negative rumors behind the Xbox One's performance is definitely having an impact on my decision. So I'm waiting out until some early footage and coverage starts showing up before choosing which one to get day 1.

Just be honest and say, "I wasn't familiar with with the PS3 library of games, but I'm familiar with games that I've enjoyed on the Xbox 360 and I'm looking forward to those ones on the Xbox One"
I had a PS3 sitting in my house for the best part of 5 months. I just gave it back today. A friend of mine loaned me it because I was interested in the The Last of Us. I also, as a big MGS fan, had never played 4 as it was a PS3 exclusive. Along with that he gave me all three Uncharted games, of which I've seen him play quite a bit of.

It went back today and the only two titles I played were MGS4 and TLOU. I really enjoyed TLOU, absolutely brilliant game. I don't understand the level hype it gets though, I genuinely think it's over the top. I had intended to play the Uncharted series and just never bothered because combination of what I've already seen, and just the general idea of the game, didn't compel me to give it a go.

This idea that people aren't familiar with exclusives and blah blah is nonsense. Some people just don't like, or are not interested in particular games. That's it. I've had goes on and watched a bunch of Sony exclusive be played over the years, Heavy Rain, Killzone and Resistance to add a few more to the ones already mentioned. They just don't do it for me. In contrast, seeing Gears of War was what made me walk out and buy a 360 the day after I played it at a friends. Different strokes and all that. That's it.

Killer Instinct, and Titanfall is why I'm getting one at launch. PS4 down the line. I like games, and eventually I'll try to have all three because I play gamez.

Well I am not buying either at launch and am actually going to buy a WiiU when the new bundle hits. But I am buying an Xbone first over PS4 when Titanfall comes out, if not a bit sooner if I can't stand the wait. For me it's the games. MS has them so far, Sony doesn't. Sony has Killzone. I bought a PS3 for Killzone 2, I won't make that mistake again.

I also like how the Xbone at least tries to change things up a bit. I wish they'd stuck with the original plan they had, but I can see why they changed it. PS4 on the other hand is just a retread of PS3, only more powerful. I hope the industry is ready to evolve next gen.

Just like every other gen though, I will eventually own them all.

Which ones? For me the standout has always been the Gears and Mass Effect series (which I now own the collection for the PS3). For racing, I won't play GT5 and if I still had an Xbox 360 I wouldn't played Forza 3 simply because I have to decide whether I'd want to invest +$150 in a racing wheel.

Halo, Gears, Forza (Horizon in particular), Alan Wake, Banjo & Kazooie, Crackdown, PGR, Lost Odyssey, Shadow Complex, Fable 2.

A few things about this thread: 1) first, no one cares. Really. Make your own decisions and be confident with them. 2) the OP is sort of oddly antagonistic. Why pick on people that want an Xbox One? 3) This is a dupe of the ninety other "Wut r u buying lol" threads
