I don't know how some people can avoid personal hygiene, it's just incredibly gross I can't imagine not showering for days, or not putting on deodorant etc. I'm a huge socially awkward nerd btw.

I've never been to one of these big cons but if it is smelly then that sucks. I always thought it was just one of those stereotypes people like to overstate like how gamestop shopping sucks, but I don't know.

again, that just means the shit is cheap. too strong, poorly made. If you like, I can recommend you some much milder scents that won't give you a headache. soft, mild scents are the only way to go.

Thanks for the offer but I am fine without. I have even been complimented on my scent before by random women. A shower a day and some Old Spice Pure Sport deodorant works wonders for me. And along the same line, I don't use hair products.

don't know how anime cons smell, never went to one. have been to a, ughh, LAN though. most of the smelly people there were the ones that spoke very highly of games like LoL and WoW. some of them nearly got into fights over the trash talk while playing these games together.

I went to my second anime con ever in my life and all was going well until I entered a battle room where people could play battle each other. The smell in that room was so unbearable that I almost died. Then I go into a panel room and with all the nerds together it was even worse , i felt like an outcast because I seemed to be the only one that put on cologne.

But cologne doesn't make things smell good if they already smell badly. I think what's going on here is that many people who go to anime cons have so much sex that they usually just completed the act right before the convention starts. That smell you cannot tolerate, it's sex, sex, SEX!

The only nerd-gathering I've been to is PAX and it really only smelled bad around the Nintendo stuff.

Personally, I made sure to shower in the morning before leaving the hotel room and once more before going out to bars and stuff with the people I was meeting there.

Might be a population/location thing. I've been to a couple of cons here in Australia and I've never noticed any problems with smell at all. Of course, our cons are lucky to hit 2000 or more attendance
