Why does Netflix has soo much awesomeness?!?!

Wanted to cancel my subscription today, but all these NEW TV shows/Anime/Movies being released in the next few months that are Netflix exclusive is forcing me to keep paying $10. It's like, either than HBO for GoT and my default Amazon Prime signup, all I need is Netflix. Anybody else in the same boat?

Netflix has regressed for me. Used to be a lot better.

Hulu has A LOT of TV that Netflix doesn't, especially comedy, and a TON more anime if you're into that.

Also, The Handmade's Tale is better than any Netflix Drama.

I also think Filmstruck is a must-have sub if you are really into classic and foreign cinema.

I don't order much from Amazon so Prime is the sub I don't need. Currently riding that free Showtime trial for Twin Peaks but if I wanted Showtime that would be another plus to Hulu.

Between Netflix and PS Vue I don't really need any other paid streaming services. Crunchyroll helps fill in the anime void.

I really liked the movie Tramps they added recently. It's a romantic comedy/ petty crime movie with a good soundtrack. It's short and sweet.

It has less movies than I thought they would have.

but it has Fuller House and every season of Power Rangers

I might cancel because of Star Trek though

For you maybe. I don't really care for any of their originals. And their movie selection is even worse.

Yeah. While I like some of their originals, you can obviously tell that's where the licensing money has been going to.

Obviously it makes sense though, OP isn't the only one that sticks with them because of their originals. Exclusives can be a powerful thing.

$10 a month is like 3 DVD rentals back in the day. I pay it happily. It is crazy how much content they have on hand and charge so little for.

said it before, but Netflix is absolutely one of the best values out there.

tons of great content, really strong original content, more than I can watch. also thankful for the stuff for my kids.

They used to have a way bigger selection of great movies and tv networks. Now they make original shows with that money, many of which really aren't that good. Lady Dynamite and With Bob and David, though, hehe. They brought me Danger 5, too.

Fuller House? Power Rangers?

I'm with you. It's gone down hill ever since they've went with their original programming over big name films and shows.

Don't get me wrong, some of their original stuff is good, but there's just way too much stuff I don't care for.

Yea, I love Marvel, so I'm in the middle of daredevil (season 1 just is amazing. Getting rid of that bad taste of The Iron Fist series that I didn't even finish and almost made me cancel my account. I think I will watch The Flash next and Dr Strange at the end of the month)

I'm looking forward to the Punisher solo series but other than that I'm feeling pretty ambivalent

Maybe that Castlevania cartoon will be good

I was getting tired of it for the longest but as of late it's gotten so good. Riverdale just got added, I'm busy binging all of Twin Peaks right now, Master of None just got a new season, OITNB and BoJack Horseman are getting new seasons soon, then you got GLOW and the Castlevania series coming too....

:whew:

Like,

You do understand other people like shows ypu don't right?

daredevil, jessica jones, luke cage, master of none, narcos, stranger things, dear white people, all great shows.

i wonder what i'm missing on primetime cable, hulu, and amazon

For some reason I had believed they would slowly replace every movie ever with streaming versions rather than renting discs out. Suffice to say I expected too much. :P

I'm semi-kidding. It also has the first season of Pokemon. :p I should watch Zootopia though, I'm surprised that more some of the more recent Disney movies are on there.

What star trek is leaving in the us?
Star Trek Discovery is on CBS's thing but on Netflix outside the US.

I'm a little upset over that.

Holy crap I didn't know Netflix had the other series. I'll find the time to watch them... someday

Yup. After 3+ years just waiting on the last of my card balance to run out before I pull the plug on it. Just a bunch of shit original content, comedy specials that aren't really funny and a dwindling library. I mean the point was having a great digital selection of shows and movies that grows. But it isn't profitable enough for them so they have to try and be the new CBS or NBC. Last Halloween I was in the mood for horror and they removed almost every single major horror movie except for some low rent canadian straight to dvd junk or faux horror.

Just praying Stranger Things 2 comes soon so I can watch and finish it, maybe the next House of Cards season.

I find Netflix and HBO to be a good combo, but Netflix gave up on trying to build a decent anime library a long time ago. HBO doesn't even bother.

They have a LOT of cash to throw at dream projects. Some of those are good, some are misses, same as anything else.

I love that they are supporting animation, with the new Castlevania being announced along with the coming release of BLAME!, i'm pretty happy with what they support. Stranger Things and House of Cards are excellent as well.

Yep. Been watching Mad Men and have new seasons of Bloodline and House of Cards coming within the next week, nevermind all the Disney movies I haven't watched yet, and all the Marvel stuff. It's awesome.

Honestly, as long as Netflix has different regional libraries and even actively blocking VPN, it's far from "awesome". It's serviceable.

Amazon >>>> Netflix.

Cancelled my Netflix sub months ago and haven't looked back.
I only subbed for the Marvel stuff and cancelled, but I mainly watch on Amazon Prime. Having access to HBO and Starz is a major plus.

And The Man in the High Castle and Vikings are both godlike.

13 Reasons Why, Stranger Things, Master of None, The Last Kingdom, Black Mirror, Bloodlines, Sense8, The Crown, Narcos, Daredevil and the rest of the NCU... That's far and away more good-to-GREAT shows than any actual network I can think of has. Throw in documentaries, comedy specials, indie films, and a decent collection of modern TV & movie classics. Netflix is one of, if not the best values in entertainment.

Does Amazon Prime have locked region libraries that you can't access even with a VPN? If they don't have that shit, I think I'm going to switch over to them if they have a good movie/series offer.

I love it. I add more stuff to my queue every month than I end up watching and stream a few hours a week. It's a great value compared to everything else I've used. I sometimes go 2-3 months without touching HBO Go which I've only got because Comcast won't do Internet only deals anymore and they always throw it in.

I wonder how much of my Netflix viewing has been Star Trek episodes. If they got rid of TNG, DS9, and Voyager tomorrow I'd be pissed.

They have a far better movie selection and most HBO shows and their original programming is better than Netflix imo outside of Master of None.

In the US. Not sure on regions.

Yeah they are my first choice for movies. If I want it bad enough at least it is there most of the time to rent.

Netflix was best when it had BBC and Nickelodeon stuff. Riiiiiight when the original content started. So maybe mid 2013? Post-OITNB S1? Peak Netflix.
