so the 360 has hit the wall graphically. that sucks. i was hoping that developers would continue to push it but i guess they can only go so far.

There are alot of well established rumours that the new Xbox console is coming out next year and they're gonna drop the X360 like a brick. I dont want this happening to me again so me and all my friends are trading our Xboxs for PS3s. I suggest you do the same!

Thats funny since my point was about Crysis i din't actually say it should cost $3,000,but i found interesting that some of the bechmarks i have saw for the 3850 video card on Crysis are basically bad.

I don't really know for sure,but games are not progressing like PS3 ones,the xbox 360 is 3 years old system,it is suppose to look better,not only for the ease of use,friendly hardware but for the time devs have with the hardware working.

How can sony in less time put something more impressive.?

I've yet to come across a 360 fanboy here that is as vocal and borderline retarded as some of the Ps3 fans that are really freaking vocal about their opinions.

Amazing to think the best looking game this gen came out in 2005. Anyone who's played the game will know what I'm talking about, there's a crazy amount of effects in this game from what was initially a GameCube title.

Let's be honest here. The game will actually look better in motion.

I'm just pointing out the irony in how desperate you are to prop up games with sub-hd resolutions and barely any AA/AF, meanwhile your platform of awesome graphics was undone months after release by Crysis.

And I mean completely undone, because I was playing Crysis last year and it looked so much better than any PS3 game (and every PS3 game that will ever be) that actually arguing for the PS3 as a platform for great visuals is a complete joke.

eh so can I and it doesnt to me, textures are upped and it looks great, but geometry is still quite blocky as it is in the first gears.... Textures are just as varied in uncharted and I find the setting more aesthetically pleasing

Personally the stupidity on this forum sometimes doesnt surprise...just cause one game looks good doesnt mean others look rubbish...only a zealot would say such....

I can play crysis on very good settings as well and it looks incredible...I just started MGS4 recently and that game really impressed me as well...crysis has better graphics, but MGS4 has far better presentation, and the character models are as good, better with polys in some cases, with less detailed textures...

I would not say not even close,in fact i reserve my judgement until i can play GOW2,but GOW2 doesn't look to be a big improvement from GOW,it has some better things but like Resistance 2 it doesn't quite look way different than the first.

Resistance 2 is a big improvement from R1, better lighting, better shadows (dynamic shadows, self shadows), better texture (texture streaming), bigger level ( geometry streaming), better physic (water etc.. ), better particle effects, etc....

Pretty much every video I've seen of GOW2 has framerate issues, it's struggling to keep that 30fps. It could just be from older builds, but framerates on 360 games seldom improve late in the development cycle, see: Mass Effect.

i haven't seen that many videos of gow2, but i'd be anally raped if i've seen any hint of slowdown ever. are you sure you're not watching youtube vids encoded at 15 fps, or trying to play 720p movies your pc cannot play smoothly ?
Also, i'm actually surprised at how many titles ship with a smooth framerate after showing problems in almost final builds; gow1 itself was struggling to keep 10 fps in movies and shipped with an almost flawless framerate.

It's not a 360 problem, but an egine hitting its limits, UT3 that is. I bet the next Banjo will be technically better than GOW2, but not as badass, gory, eye candy and as such, will slip under the radar...

comparing GOW2 with GOW as how far it should go is silly.

GOW is still hands down one of the best looking games on any console, the fact that GOW2 is even a fraction better still blows my mind.

it's all about art style and what the developers do with their ideas.

Nvidia 9800 GT with a Core 2 Duo, I don't think my computer is the problem. I watch videos off of Gametrailers. I've seen tons of frameskipping not only on web videos but also in television broadcasts such as G4.
