Why don't men wear hats anymore?

This is the reason Ne-Yo always wears a hat.

Thanks for your opinion. Please, show us all a picture of you so we know how to properly dress for today's style.
I don't claim to have some sort of "modern style" for myself. On days when I'm hanging out with the wife and/or friends, it's a t-shirt and jeans. If we're going somewhere formal, I might move to slacks and a dress shirt. Job interview gets the normal suit. Weddings get tuxes.

And wear what you want, I'm just telling you that from the average guy and average girl perspective, people that wear hats like these (or even worse, that suspenders outfit) stick out like a sore thumb. The first impression you give off is one of being pretentious.

I went bald at 11, wore hats for years. Now I have most of my hair back, but I feel naked if I don't go out with a hat on. I used to wear a nice skull cap thing from Nepal(can't find a pic, sorry), now I started wearing a black golf type hat.

edit: what the hell is glof? damn spelling.

Self fulfilling prophecy

Basically, this hit and the world was never the same afterwards:

Seriously though, hats are awesome. I wear one like every waking hour of the day - I work in a laid back office that's cool with wearing hats.

Hats are just another accessory you're likely to lose or misplace. When I see a scenester with a hat, hankerchief around his neck, fingerless gloves and raybans...I know that at the very least, I'm not the vainest person in the world.

Yeah, but we don't care what you think.

To drive this even more off topic, scarves are awesome. People should wear more scarves.

Ok, with this and the topic of hats. Where the fuck do you people live? I see fedoras and scarves galore daily.

I am buying this one for the summer.

My fiancee would not let me buy my first few choices.

So I guess I am stuck in hipster regalia.

Anyone actually ever go to Bencraft? I have been to their Williamsburg locations a few times and surprisingly enough, they are very Brooklyn, not hipster nor Jew.

I, a native New Yorker often have trouble understanding the accent.

Why do people not wear hats anymore? Most people tend to attribute it to one singular event that changed the hat culture forever...

The event not so much, he did have a top hat, just left it on his seat, the person probably.

I got a pinstripe fedora when I went to Vegas. I love it but to be honest I only wore it over there. For vacation it's badass cause no one knows that mysterious person in the hat. Back home people are like WTF are you dressed like Justin Timberlake for?

I have this rumpled-up Kangol bucket hat. I like bucket hats. You know why? Because you can wear it normally:

Or you can be dumb and do this(*):

* - No, I don't really leave the house like this.

I also just bought this cadet cap:

You're like a younger version of Saul from Ocean's Eleven.

I love wearing hats, specially gatsby hats. I've been complimented for wearing a hat before, and I've found many girls find hats classy.

I wear this quite often:

It doesn't have the grampa print on it though. So it's a little bit less "old looking" (even though I know it still is a very dated look).

yeah, i have one like that. i love my hat <3

Just started wearing this one. I wanted the kangol version of the same hat but this one looks better when I'm drinking.

It looks kind of fucked up in that picture, its more like the one in the above post or the one andre 3000 wears in revolver.

Anyways, I'm gonna have to go against the norm and say that I hate old fashion. I hate the hassle of wearing a suit, hate how it feels on me, hate the feeling that I'm buying into "high brow" bullshit when I put one on. I'm just too "common man" or something for all that. If I ran a business, I would never be strict on dress code.
Wow. I'm sorry, I could have sworn you were a chick. Not just from the username, I really thought you'd said so in various posts. Mind blown.

Where'd you get that hat? It's fuckin slick!

I want a collapsible top hat with walking stick. That would be sweeeeeeet! (And a cape)
Seriously

I have never seen any kind of hat/cap/beanie/etc that didn't make me look completely stupid when wearing it.

you havent tried enough on. the slightest changes in shape/design make a big difference on how a hat makes your face/head look.
