Why Girls Love The Dad Bod

Looks like they have about the same percentage. Women tend to store it in other places.

Women tend to put it on their legs and butt but men are cursed with the type of belly fat that will kill you. Also, 3-4% guy is nightmare fuel.

On a side note, body fat percentage pictures are always handy, but it's nice to have multiple pics of reference for body types, since a person with high amounts of muscle and low amounts of muscle will (obviously) look very different even with the same BF%

Dang men get the shaft. 35% looks pretty good on a woman since it can go to the breast and butt. 35% on a male looks unhealthy because it almost goes all to the gut.

It *can* go to those areas, but rarely does. And THAT is where genetics come in. I would look horrible at 35%, because I put all my weight on my face and stomach first. Very few women are fortunate enough to look like plus-sized models at higher body-fat percentages, which makes the idea that they represent "real women" even more laughable.

How come none of the women have love handles? Love handles are the worst and spoil the figure drastically.
Diversity in body type? I carry most of the weight in my lower hips and thighs, but one of my closest friends has smaller hips and tends to gain excess weight in her lower belly and the sides of her upper hips, giving her love handles. None of my ladyfriends carry weight the same way, which is why those body fat % pictures are always sort of misleading for women.

Very well said. A lot of women don't put on fat like the plus-sized women at all. This point tends to get ignored quite often.

im a guy and most of my fat goes to my legs and butt first and lastly my stomach. Even with the gym, my legs are built faster than the rest of my body.

Definitely the Legs and belly for me. And have the same problem legs are often the most built part for me since I do like to focus on legs, so I have huge legs some belly and a upper body I wish were more like my legs haha.

I'm personally an in-shape skinny guy. I'm not real muscular, but I can do anything athletically.

Most of the girls I've dated prefer moderately in-shape physiques on men. So basically, in shape enough to run full-court basketball games, but not terribly buff. I've had a couple tell me they find out of shape guys more attractive than muscular guys. But then again, all of the women I've ever dated have been hyper-educated (dentists, physicians and PhDs) so I assume there is selection bias.

So this is finally getting out. Dudes have been lied to for about a decade now. Chicks love dad bods. My past dates and now wife love it and proud.

Well I looked at the instagram page and found some of the guys on it cute, so I guess I like the dad bod. Though I think I find them cute because of their faces.

I tried the first BF% calculation method that came up on Google and it put me at 7%. Pretty sure that's not right, anyone know of a more solid method?

DEXA Scans, but they're ridiculous expensive for just getting a useless number.

Just use your eyes. It really doesn't matter honestly.

This checks out in my experience. But that doesn't mean you should stop hitting the gym. Ladies might not care about the sculpted aesthetics as much as you thought but they still very much would like their boyfriend to be able to lift heavy shit. Work out for practicality's sake, not for looks.

Yeah, my wife can't lift things because she's just a woman so have to do it, lol.

Trying to get to that 10% look.

I have 4-5% body fat but look like skelletor. :<

You do not.

Attaining those levels is usually temporary--contest body builders and models getting ready for photoshoots.

It's not sustainable long term--it wrecks your endocrine system and could kill you in the long run.

I am at 20% or just above, need to get down to 15%.

Also on that women's chart 35% looks like perfect to me, so what the fuck do I know.

word

10-15% males, 20-25% females. that's the way to go B-)

do your own thing though of course.

Word, I just need to eat a bit healthier, I have the workout plan nailed down.

I know a guy that does body building competitively that goes that low, he doesn't keep it at those levels after though, I don't think it's even possible.

Maybe it was 6-7. Well that was 2 years ago when measured at a gym anyway. I was 108 pounds and 5'6"....

I used to be 5-6% too before i went to the gym. Nowadays i get around 10% , something lower. I was a super skinny guy that even after 11 years of gym is still extremely thin, but at least not disgustingly so i guess. Lots of people used to have that body type, it's just rarer to see now because of how much more we do eat, but if i look old family photos they're all skinny lords. Someone moderately buff today would've passed for a bodybuilder back then.
