Sony has been getting a lot of flack from gamers and even the gaming media (for their exclusivity/timed exclusivity deals), now Microsoft comes out and swallows a company whole (and threatens to swallow even more) and no one even bats an eye?... how is that for hypocrisy?
Because of Sony's cockroach moves to secure 3rd party exclusives? They deprived PC gamers like me of playing FF7Remake? Then they stole Deathloop from MS. The warzone has been well set in advance for Microsoft to do this.
Your going back how many years lol. Sony was trying to money hat every single zenimax game. So the whole xbox gamers would of gotten them anyways don't work because it could be years before they might get to play them. Sony had 2 locked up and number 3 on the way before Microsoft closed the deal. Sony has gone way over the top on money hats they earned this.Just fyi
What were all the timed exclusives on 360? - Xbox 360
For Xbox 360 on the Xbox 360, a GameFAQs message board topic titled "What were all the timed exclusives on 360?".gamefaqs.gamespot.com

Both have done it, stop crying like a little kid.
Also, just FYI, I'm against timed exclusives from any company. Exclusives? Totally on board. Timed? Bullshit.
Not just one console. It will be on everything except Playstation.yall are fools if u think Skyrim 2 and Fallout 5 will be exclusives to one console
PlayStation will also get the PSVR versionsNot just one console. It will be on everything except Playstation.

They are on PC. That's not exclusive. That is just not on PlayStation.
There is only one major platform they are not coming to....
PlayStation still has the best games, even if Xbox bought another 3 publishers... PS would still have better games. They don't seem to get it.
giving me everything they have ever made will ever make for €10 a month.
That's the interesting thing. I think they are exclusive, but judging by what I read and heard, I'm not sure if they are truly exclusive or not. Paying that type of money, they SHOULD be, but they have to recoup costs I'm insinuating, so I'm wondering what's going to happen. IF these games are still multiplatform, Microsoft will make more money and the consumers probably won't gain anything to be brutally honest. Bethesda even said, business as usual. We'll see.
Whew... veeeeeeery slowly. One game. In the entire generation from their first party. I'd hardly even call it a trend.and playstation games are slowly coming to pc as well.
Oh so you think Gamepass is going away, if Gamepass fails Microsft are leaving the videogame business periodI highlighted your delusion.
Honestky I'd agree with you if they didn't release their stuff on PC/Steam as well.
Just before every new generation launch. Its okay we will get over it soon.Has this community always been this stupid or is there some sort of meningitis pandemic going around?

Anyway, any comment on the actual content of my post, ya know the insane value proposition of Gamepass?
Now perhaps they will double or even triple the price over the next ten years but that ain't happening anytime soon so why should I care?
what a weird logicAlso, just FYI, I'm against timed exclusives from any company. Exclusives? Totally on board. Timed? Bullshit.
Netflix was the only viable streaming service for years. They were market leaders and the alternatives were miles behind. They also completely pivoted their strategy from having instant access to loads of great films to making originals.Very good value. I ordered a Series S for exactly that reason - gamepass.
Netflix have raised their prices by a good amount in rather short periods.
Value is still good, but it shrinks...
Because the Xboys are very vocal and can't see past their hardons on the recent purchase.
The reality is sony bought studios like naughty dog etc when there was literally one console on the market ps1/2 and have been making their own exclusives for a long time.
They've done some scummy things with the destiny stuff and timed exclusives.
Nothing compares to the tomb raider sequel being paid not to release on another platform.
Ms got 7 billion to spend why not actually hire competent people to make a good halo or some new original ips like Sony's studios do?
Nah just buy a whole publisher to make their Ips exclusives.
Phil and Xbox have cancelled many games this gen.
Doesn't matter to me much as well mainly game on pc but that 7 billion would be great to see some new games and ips not denying people games.
Xbox division makes what in profit per year? ( not revenue). Would take 5+ of profit just to cover the cost of that 7 billion
I am wary of price rises, but again as a consumer I can cancel if I ever feel like the price isnt justified, for now I'm holding onto my One X and wont be going into the next gen hardware market just yet, but their commitment to Gamepass has pushed me to re sub to the serviceVery good value. I ordered a Series S for exactly that reason - gamepass.

so you would rather not get something than get it later?

Street Fighter V is still not on any xbox console while Rise of Tomb Raider has since been released on everything.
I just remember the mental gymnastics thread when Tomb raider was announced it was an embarrassment then and it's just repulsive and smoothbrained in hindsight

So you are saying that MS doesnt charge 70$ / game?
IMO game pass is epicly anti-consumer, it is disguised to be "OMG incredible value!", but in reality it is fuck you! to people whom buy their games physical / digital and want to own them.
a) not all games come to GP = now you pay expensive subscription + 70$ for some games
b) MS states that games are worth of 0.1 - few dollars, because they can give them out in GP, but also asking full price from people without GP
c) so it is "get our subscription service or get fucked"
They should drop physical/digital prices to 10-20$ on launch, to make it fair.
All access for 24 months costs 815€ here, which is 953$
for same money you can get series x 509€, 2 years of gold (im assuming it is the same as ps+) for 90-100€ and have 200-220€ left for games that you can OWN.
For 7 year gen GP will cost 815€ + 5x 12.99€ (on sale now) = 815+779,4 = 1594€ = 1863$, then add lets say 10 games that dont come to gp = max 700$
And after that you dont own any games.
So how is paying 1863 - 2500$ so pro-consumer, when it leaves only the old console to you, and maybe those 10 games you bought?
for that gamer could build big library of physical/digital games, specially if they are smart and buy used / from sales.
For reference
my cost of ps4 + 7 years ~399€ console, 7x35€ ps+, 80-100 physical games average 20€, ps4 pro 499€, some digital games 100-150€
around 3200€, but I have also sold old ps4 when trading to pro + sold / traded games for around 1000-1500e = 1700-2200€, and I still own 50-60 physical games including some special editions that would still sell for 300-500€ each.
Add to that all ps+ games, so hundreds of games in the library for price of ps+, kind of what game pass offers without new games. (all dont have years of ps+, i know)
So in the end I have maybe paid little more, but own games and could sell them to be under the price of 7 years of game pass.
My point is, that in the long run GP isnt "incredible value" compared to smart way of buying physical games
And it is kind of "fuck you" to xbox gamers whom like physicals
People whom look monthly payments, like "oh this car is only 200$ month, cheap" are silly, always look what the total cost is and compare that to other options.
i love how people used the word free XD
and for the questions op is asking, usa games media have a clear double standars with ms,and its gonna be always like that,i dont expect microsft cultists to be honest about this, this is like sports,if my team does shit,i look elsewhere, nothing new here
Well i've always been a PC gamer, so i certainly don't trust and believe anything Microsoft say, they have never supported PC gaming ever since they got into the console business, so i'll wait and see how good MS are at their word, and i won't be paying for game pass to use their not so great Xbox pc client either, they need to prove they actually support both Xbox and PC and not just want money by trying to control it, which they have tried to do in the past.
